Elvis Presley: The King of Rock’n’Roll "Behind closed doors I sat and waited, remembering our life together - the joy, the pain, the sadness, and the triumphs - from the very first time I heard his name" (3, 15). Priscilla Presley wrote these words as she recalled the life of her husband. The early life, later life, and achieve of Elvis Presley made a long-lasting impact on the whole world.
Elvis Aaron Presley had a very interesting early life. His childhood was pretty typical. Elvis was born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi (Biography). His friends soon realized that he was acting strange and kept getting sicker and sicker. Presley's last live performance was on June 25, 1977. It was said by some that he was stumbling around the stage and at one point ripped his clothing (Elvis Presley). On August 12, 1977, a book, written by three of his bodyguards, was released telling about what they experienced while working with Elvis (Ibid). This was apparently the last straw for Elvis as he was found dead in his bathroom on August 16 (Ibid). At first his death was said to be caused by congestive heart failure, an enlarged liver, and ateriosclerosis. Drug abuse was later added to the list of his killers (Ibid). Thousand of people came to Elvis' funeral at Graceland (Ibid). He was buried beside both of his parents in the Meditation Garden behind his house (Ibid).
