There were many people that helped in the formation of democracy. Some people helped by setting a limit to a king's power. Others by completely separating themselves from a monarchy and creating a new form of government. John Locke was one of the first and most influential people to speak about a democracy. He played a big role in helping people form a democracy. Locke believe that all men are equal and everyone had natural rights, and his ideas helped the colonies form a new government.
