An Introduction
A question that is often asked with regards to the Second World War is that could it have been stopped before it began? A man at the thick of things in the war was Adolf Hitler. Scholars the world over agree that WWII was Hitler’s war. It was a conflict that Hitler desired for a long time due to political, ideological, psychological as well as economic reasons. All these were unsusceptible to persuasion from outside. He had demonic and nihilistic urges which compelled him to start a war at a time when there were other options availed to resolve his issues. He had been planning for this for years. He had the support of Mussolini and agreements with countries like the USSR and Spain.
C. Indecision by France and Britain to act sooner.
D. The collapse of the League of Nations in the years prior to the war.
