How Did Albert Einstein Change Our Understanding Of Space And Time?
When you hear the name Albert Einstein, you think of genius. His amazing theories have astounded both scientists and me. I wanted to find out more about this influential astrophysicist that changed our understanding of space and time. The way he thought and did things were different from the way anyone else thought. Plus, he came up with all his ideas in his free time while he still had another job. In this essay I will talk about the life of Einstein, his famous papers with all of his ideas, his theories of relativity, mass and energy equality, and the creation of atomic weapons. On March 14th, 1879, Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany. He grew up in a secular Jewish household. His father was a salesman and engineer who founded a company along with his father’s brother. His mother stayed at home watching Einstein and his sister, Maja Einstein. He enjoyed playing the violin when he had time. Einstein went to a Catholic Elementary school where he did not do very good. Space and time will change to keep the speed of light constant. Both space and time will change because they are relative to each other. An example of this is there is one person going at a steady 10 mph. If the person was going south and decided to go southeast, the person would slow down a little bit. The person is going south at a steady speed of 10 mph, but a little amount of this speed needs to be diverted into the eastward direction causing the person to slow down a little. This is how time changes to make sure it is relative to space. This idea is special because this is in a special instance where there is no gravity to curve space.
