1. Briefly explain the functions and key characteristics of each of the above noted sectors of the hospitality industry and related industries

Accommodation: the key characteristics of a resort manager is to ensure reception is ran appropriately, opening and closing at correct times, with high levels of customer service during all hours of business. A resort manager must be actively involved in recruitment and compile with department rosters, and most of all must implement work place health and safety, and all resort policies and procedures.

Food and Beverage: the key characteristics of a bar, gaming and bistro attendant, is to ensure correct use of facilities, display a high level of a vibrant personality, excellent presentation and your ability to provide superior customer service.

Mice: the role of an events manager is to work with affiliates ensuring they are kept in the loop including providing them with reports if required, to organize and manage defined components of convention and to display a high knowledge and skill of organizing companies etc.

Clubs: the key functions of a membership consultant, is to ensure the benefits of joining the club, for example, keeping fit and using the facilities, to serve customers with appropriate customer service, and to offer the company hard work and determination.

Gaming: the functions of a pub manager is to ensure responsible service of alcohol in which includes, being aware of a persons intake of alcoholic beverages, and checking of id, in which will prevent service to minor. Other responsibilities include providing quality service, preventing minors from gambling and providing the responsible service of gambling.

Entertainment and Recreation: a leisure services general manager, is required to commit a high level of service and knowledge to the organization, and to display leadership qualities and help make the company grow.

Travel and tours/tourism services: as a sales, events and tourism
