Face it: we were all little kids once. We all ran around our home with bright red capes hanging from our slight, skinny shoulders, cheeks flushed and eyes alight with wonder just about ready to swallow up the world. We were all little kids once, and as little kids we dreamt and dreamt and imagined unimaginable things. We were all kings and queens and marvelous superheroes and crafty villains. But somewhere along the way we grew up and left all of these dreams behind, shed them off and walked along into a wicked world of facts and realities. Those simple days of childlike wonder, we tend to leave them in past like they're nothing. Only they're not nothing. People have a habit of forgetting what it is like to feel as if the world was made just for you, like there is everything left to explore. But this - this feeling - this is what life should be about. But when I say that I'd control time, I don't mean that I'd go back in time and shoot Hitler's brains out or tell Louis XVI that he'll majorly screw things up. I wouldn't go back in time to change the course of events; let's face it, that would probably do more harm than good. I'd travel in time in the manner of a whim. I've read so many books set in the past: I've read about France in the 1920s and London 1870s. I've read and imagined these places and loved them without being there. Just visualize being able to close your eyes and think, I'd like to be in New York City during the speakeasy era, and open them and actually be there to witness guys in suspenders and girls in flappers all in their anti-prohibition craze. Or better yet: I would get to be in Nirvana's last concert formerly to Kurt deciding to blow his head off before I was even born. That is what bliss must feel like.
