One of the reasons why Hitler signed a series of international agreements is so that he could gain key allies such as Italy and Japan. In 1936 Hitler and Mussolini formed the Rome-Berlin Axis this meant that Germany and Italy were now firm allies which meant that Hitler had the confidence of knowing that Germany had the support of Italy. Germany and Japan signed the Anti-Comintern Pact which promised co-operation against the USSR, in 1937 Italy joined the pact. By Hitler signing these agreements it meant that Germany now had allies.
Another reason why Hitler signed agreements is so that he could show that is country is powerful and that he was a powerful leader.
This is why he made most business and military deals with powerful countries around him to show that he was a powerful leader who could get what he wanted by using others around him. He also did it to avoid war and get time to make his country even more powerful. This links to my first point because Hitler used his allies to make his country more powerful. So Hitler signed lots of agreements to create a powerful Germany.
The final reason why Hitler signed agreements is so that he had more room to manoeuvre and achieve his aims. Take the invasion of Austria in 1938, Hitler managed to take over Austria due to the fact that he has isolated Italy with their agreements so Hitler knew that Italy wouldn’t do anything to stop him. He again broke the Treaty of Versailles but he knew that Britain and France wouldn’t do anything to stop him because they both wanted to avoid war. So he signed lots of agreements to achieve his aims with the security of knowing that he wasn’t going to be stopped because he had made so many agreements.
Overall the main reason why Hitler signed a series of agreements was so that he could achieve his aims. This is because if he didn’t have the agreements with Italy they probably would have done something to
