6.4 How Safe are You?
List one item you did not know before reading the STD and HIV/AIDS unit.
· STDs appear to increase susceptibility to HIV infection by two mechanisms.
What is the best way to make sure you do not get an STD or HIV?
· Protecting yourself with the proper form of protection, basically by using a condom, you can avoid contracting HIV, AIDS and STD's.
· Dont have sex with alot of people without using protection.
Get tested
Your best friend wants to become sexually active. Write a letter to him/her explaining the risks STDs and HIV. Dear BestFriend, Why do you want to become sexually active. Do you even know the risks of STDs and HIV? I guess i'll have to tell you! One of the risks of HIV is having unprotected sex. Another risk of having HIV is Exchange sex for drugs or money. I'll give you one more risk of HIV and that's Engage in anal, vaginal, or oral sex with men who have sex with men, multiple partners, or anonymous partners without using a condom. HIV is an virus that causes AIDS. An understanding of the relationship between STDs and HIV infection can help in the development of effective HIV prevention programs for persons with high-risk sexual behaviors.if an HIV-infected individual is also infected with another STD, that person is more likely to transmit HIV through sexual contact than other HIV-infected persons. I'm telling you this because You're my bestfriend, you're like a little sister to me and i would not want you to end up getting HIV or STDs by wanting to become sexually active no don't become sexually active babygirl or about 5 boys coming up to me saying i had sex with your bestfriend i would be 48 hot so you do not need to become sexually active KEIANNA! You know you can come to me to talk about anything we done seen each other cry,and etc so your bestfriend will always be here for you no matter what so please do not become sexually active at least wait until you get married.
