Hare Monologue
Hare’s Revenge

Hi I’m Tortoise you might know about the Tortoise and the Hare. Well that story was about me except now I’m a world champion. I have raced in France, Australia, Germany and the Olympics. I usually win because of luck but through training I have become way better (tortoise was a little full of himself but did not realize). Oh, I forgot to tell you but now I’m in the most famous race it’s called the, actually I will just leave you to see what it is called.
I was in the Olympics and was racing against Usain Colt. He was the fastest runner so he thought. Usain Colt was actually really slow, the fastest runner was Usain Bolt. The race was tight till the end. Usain Bolt lost his traction with his shoes and fell. Everybody was in shock. That was the final. I was pronounced winner. It was like one of those movies where the person you think was going to win fell right before the line. The second place and the third place winners were also from the US. Their names were Jonathan Wolf and Larry Caterpillar. The only reason Larry came in third was because he was so small everybody thought they were beating him. I had to be at my jet before ten o’clock I had to be at

He came up to me and said he wanted a rematch, I was speechless. I did not know what to say so I just said the first words that came to mind let’s do this. We built up a crowd and said that there is a rematch. I said 3… 2... 1… GO! Off we went. I went off and had a big lead so I decided to hang out with one of my friends. I went to my favorite friend Johnny Pepsin we have been best friends since kindergarten. We played on his play station and and goofed around we broke one of his lamps. Then I looked up. There was Hare coming back I ran out the door and tried to catch up. I was too late he beat me I felt ashamed. I apologized to Hare underestimating his ability. He said it was ok and I said I will buy us lunch and have some fun. We went out to

Both were starting to feel the agonizing effects of the 5000m and were giving it their last ounce of strength for the final 100 yards. The tape was upon them and they dove right past the judges in a photo finish. Louie later said, “you couldn't put a hair between us.” The stadium erupted into cheers and then fell silent, anxiously awaiting the judges decision, as were both Lash and Zamperini. Finally, you could hear slight microphone noises, the announcers were ready. Zamperini, he said, had won! Alas, upon further review they recanted their decision and gave the match to Lash. That didn't phase anyone in the Zamperini household or anyone in Torrance because “The boy with the fast finish” secured himself a place on the Olympic team!…

The judge called the people one by one until the 3rd person went. Scores were gave. It was then my turn. I went to the middle ring. I tripped on my uniform, got up and did my form wrong. I completely flipped out and melted. I was sobbing on the red and blue mat. Then the master judge came over to me and asked “Would you like to try again? We can only give you 3 points but you can go again.”…

And to finish up that inning we just got a couple ground balls and we turned a double play. And for the next few innings nothing really happened both teams were struggling to hit. Now it's like the 5th inning and we have the top of our hitting order up so we had:Liam,Luke,Ryan,Alex as our 1,2,3,4 hitters. And we got a rally going and we scored a couple runs so at this point the score is 5-1 and we have the lead so then I go into the 6th inning to pitch and I can only do ⅔ of the inning so than Ryan comes in and pitches and to finish out the 7th Alex pitches a 3 strikeout inning. So the game was over and the presedent of the league gave me the game ball to keep and bring home and everyone on our team got a trophy to take home after we won we were all so happy that we won the championship because it was or a lot of people the first time they won something. The…

The team we were up against was the fierce, very talented number 2 in the state, the Rattlers. Recruiting players from all over the country to play on one team, they were a powerhouse no doubt. Josh back in the lineup after sitting out that last game and the hour break we had, he was all fueled up and ready to go. First inning comes up and they bat first putting up a enormous number of runs counting up to 10 in the first. We came back with a 2 run inning. shut them down in the second, and came back another 3 run inning cutting their lead in half. Slowly gaining momentum we knew what we came here to dude and that was to win this championship. Third inning rolls around and we shut them down for the second consecutive inning. We come to bat, three walks in a row and im due up with the bases loaded. Pitcher throwing close to 92 mph, look almost impossible to hit. first pitches goes by and my eyes widened that was the fastest thing i've ever seen right down the pipe for strike one. Next pitch same result. Third pitch i knew it was coming, i reached back threw my bat at the ball and hit a GRAND SLAM! Putting out team down just 1 run with 3 innings to…

I was seeded 7th out of 21 kids. I had to wrestle a very tough kid my first match. Considering this was my first match of the district tournament, the nerves kicked in. My full potential was not shown in my first match and I walked away with a loss. The tournament wasn’t over and I had to keep my head up even though I knew losing again wasn’t an option. After an hour or so went by, it was time for my second match. The kid I had to wrestle wasn’t ranked and had a losing record so I assumed I could win. I went in with a positive mindset and came out victorious. I pinned him with 27 seconds left in the first period. With that win, I move on to the second day of the tournament. When the first day of wrestling is over, you have to option to weigh out that night or weigh in the next morning. I really wanted to eat that night so I chose to weigh out. Little did I know I was 4 pounds over. So after an hour of running I made weight and was able to eat that night. Laying in bed that night, I knew that tomorrow could be my last day wrestling all year. I had to give it my all. The next morning, we left the wrestling complex at 5:45 so we could be there by 7. Everyone slept the whole way there. After we all checked in, it was time to start warming up. I got a good sweat going in the warm up and felt confident. At about ten o’clock, it was time for my first match. I wrestled hard and walked away with the win. If I won my next match, I was going to the state wrestling…
