To serve, as it does, to convince those with lack of motivation, or perhaps imagination, to remain stagnant with the hope that chance will smile upon them, the concept of luck is a farce. This is a truism that successful people understand. In fact, most successful people will state this truth almost as a proverb. For example, Oprah Winfrey has been quoted as saying, “Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” Oprah Winfrey has the innate understanding that luck isn’t really luck at all. In fact, luck is the culmination of hard work.…

The word choices such as “luck” and “opportunity,” in my opinion should not be in the same sentence. I believe the speaker is trying to say that luck has nothing to do with preparation or opportunity; but if you prepare and work hard the opportunity will come, where you can use your knowledge and skills to get you to where you want to be.…

One can say that in certain cases, chance does play its part. Sometimes a person gets an opportunity for success and he avails himself of it without delay. And there may be others, more intelligent and hardworking, who may never get an opportunity for success and progress in life. This is, however, not true in all the cases. If we study the lives of successful men carefully, we realize that such men have worked very hard at one time or the other in their lives. Even mere hard work is not enough, unless this hard work is done in a systematic and well-planned manner. A particular student may burn the midnight oil but may not fare well in the examination. But there may be another who may put in just a fraction of the labour put in by the former but may come out with flying colors. So, proper planning and thoughtful arrangement of material are essential to be successful in a venture, may be an examination, an interview or any other activity. To this, must be added proper guidance which can be provided only by a highly qualified and experienced person. Many believe, particularly in the modern corrupt world, that unjust methods such as flattery, bribery, favoritism,…

When someone didn’t have success or they didn’t achieve the result that they desire, they always thought that because they were luckless or they had a lot of bad luck. In my point of view, I think that it’s only the way we lie ourselves and we don’t want to face the facts or the true reason. I also accept that when people succeed, it is because of hard work, luck has nothing to do with it. There are some following reasons to support my idea.…

If we depend only on luck for all our accomplishments, we are taking a great risk. Luck is something intangible and no one can guarantee that it would ever come your way. If it doesn't work, it would be a great disappointment. If we believe in luck, we would be clueless about where we are heading... Of course, sometimes we just get lucky by finding an easier way to achieve the goal, but how long can we push this luck? How many times will we be able to repeat this luck? When we accustom ourselves to difficult tasks, the kingdom of opportunities opens up in front of us, which is usually a forbidden land for others. The desire to accomplish something through hard work is like a key to a treasure chest. It doesn’t matter what exactly we are doing — by working hard we can reach the top in any field.…
