Reflection on group project
For our site specific project I felt that the whole team in total did a great job. There were minor mistakes we made but we did well overall. There were some challenges when we were trying to come up with a dance with the environment. The most challenging part of the project was dancing outside to where everyone could see what we were doing. There were several distractions when we would try to come up with the dance. There was somebody that got mad at us because he couldn’t put up this thing to where he could lay down in between the trees. We had to explain to him that we were doing a project here then he just flicked us off. It was also a distraction because a lot of people I knew walked by and would do things to try to distract me from doing the dance. So the most challenging thing was being distracted since we were outside with people walking by. I felt that what the success was when we were coming up with ideas on the type of moves to do. Since there were six of us it was easier to come up with a lot of ideas. Someone would come up with an idea and other people in the group would build off of that idea. Also the place where we were at was a big open space to where you can come up with a lot of ideas on what to use with our project. I felt that I contributed a lot of ideas and also strength to the group. They first came up with the idea that one of the girls should climb the tree somehow to add to the dance. While they were testing it out, they had a hard time doing it. So I decided since it is easier for me to just hop on the tree, why won’t I just hop on the tree while the rest of everyone acts like they cutting the tree down. So I felt I help out with a key part of the dance. What I gained from the collaboration was different ways to come up with ideas from building off of other people ideas and the sense of team work.

Groups may be defined in many ways, indeed providing an absolute definition of a group, as with much of the theory around group work, is highly problematic and contestable. However for the purposes of discussing groupwork within a context of working with young people we may define a group as a small gathering of young people. Group work may simplistically be described as the study and application of the processes and outcomes experienced when a small group comes together.…

Natasha did do this, but I think some members of the group lacked a little urgency when doing their work. Natasha, Adam and I worked very hard in trying to put together a detailed and satisfactory presentation for our product, having to do some other peoples work to make sure it was done. Michael, worked well but didn’t really turn up in class which made it difficult for us to know what exactly work he had done. Becky and Joe didn’t really make much contribution to the group, Becky put together some of the advertising and did a sufficient amount, but Joe did nothing to contribute to the presentation. Overall, the main outcome of how the team thought I contributed was good. They said that I worked well to bring together everyone’s information to create the business plan and that I helped them with anything they were struggling with. Myself, I thought that I could have worked a little harder on the business plan and make sure that it was in complete detail, but it was hard when I didn’t quite know what everyone had…

Some really effective moments when we worked as a team was when we had to organise the fish and chips and when we had to set up for the quiz night, we all stuck together and set up the hall in under an hour. I think that at the end of the event once we had counted how much we had raised, we all felt proud of ourselves at what we had achieved and this really showed as we were excited to let our guests know how much they had helped us and the charity.…

However, because the communication of progress and status was done in a regular and systematic fashion, and because the team members worked well together, everyone did feel an obligation not to the let their team mates down, or to let any one player carry the weight on their own. Everyone chipped in and was committed, if not to the success of the Project, at least the success and survival of the collective. This in the end ensured the success of the Project.…

This essay will critically explore how collaborative working increases the knowledge of professionals, safety of service user and the quality of care. People with a learning disability are more vulnerable to certain physical and mental health problems than the general population (Emerson & Baines, 2010). Collaborative working between professionals is important if professionals are to meet the complex health needs of the service user and ensure their safety (Fatchett & Taylor, 2013; Lacey & Oyvry, 2013).…

I had fun participating in this activity, and I tried to make myself useful as much as I could. I was the one who brought the paper for the sculpture and at my return I was told by the other girls in the group that we were going to build a rocket. I felt a bit disappointed as they took a decision while I was not there as it was supposed to be a group effort, but even if I felt we should have chosen a theme more specific to our nursing course I had to agree with them, as in a group the majority rules applies.…

    dance class reflection

Over the course of the semester, I have learned about different types of dances including hip hop, dance hall, and contemporary, Bhangra, street jazz, Latin, zumba and more. In the beginning, I believed that I danced well and dance was easy to do but once I figured out how much effort, practice, coordination, and preparation for a dance, I thought differently. Dance is all about expressing your emotions by using your body, having fun, gaining strength in my muscles and developing a balance not only for dance purposes but for my inner self. I learned that dance is more complex than I believe. There were elements I should consider in my movements like posture, timing, poise, musicality and expression, presentation, power, foot and leg action, and a lot more criteria that need to be required in a dance number. I found that in a group dance, collaboration, cooperation, initiative, and teamwork needs to be contributed as a group. Without it, the dance will look like a mess as none of the moves are synchronized, dance members will be bumping into each other, emphasis will be on different movements and they group will look disorganized, individual techniques will be used to execute the dance and it will look very unprofessional. More personal technique is to exaggerate my movements and be energetic when dancing. I learned a lot of valuable skills in this dance class as well as communication and group work among peers.…

The dynamics of this team were amazing, it was the easiest and smoothest flowing team I’ve been on. Team morale started high and stayed high throughout, not one team member left the team or became disengaged, none of us felt burned out, despite that the length of the project was quite long and the workload was on top of our day-to-day work. When brainstorming, they all added input and I didn’t feel like any one team member was left out or did not have their voice heard. It was really successful, not just the end result or the deliverables at the end of the day, the process itself and the way in which we arrived at the outcome was fantastic. Having said that, we didn’t quite meet our goals because they were set quite steep. Regardless, I would still consider it a successful endeavour. What’s more, I would venture that if I asked the rest of the team the same question I would receive the same answer. I have since never been on a team like that.…
