Final Paper Skipping the complicated scientific definitions, green technology is simply any technology that is more efficient and environmentally friendly. Green technology is intended to mitigate or reverse the effects of human activity on the environment. Also the use of green technology and renewable energy is an integral part of the government 's agenda today and in the future.
Unlike the technological waves in recent decades, “Green Technology is almost entirely materials science based. Relying on the availability of alternative sources of energy, the purpose of this technology is to reduce global warming as well as the greenhouse effect (deepgreenrobot, 2013)”. Green Technologies main objective is to create new ways and new technologies in a way that they do not harm, damage or eliminate our earth’s natural resources. Green Technology also focuses on less harm being done to humans, animals, and plant health.
Pollution around the world is effecting our way of life and our planets health every day, with the help of green technology we can reduce pollution and improve on cleaning our planet back toward its original state of health. Today our country and many others, even developing countries are researching and spending billions of dollars on green technology to extend the life of our planet and reduce the effects we are having on it.
Now that we have defined green technology and given a basic idea of what it is and the goals of green technology we will go over the future developments of green technology and the purpose in length of this technology and how it will change our planet in a positive way.
The purpose of green technology goes beyond just saving resources and money, it effects the longevity of our planet and its health. I want to now break down the purpose of green technology. Sustainably is first and

There are twelve key principles of green chemistry that are used to evaluate how green a reaction may be. A green reaction prevents waste before it is created with little to no toxicity. Green experiments should be designed to maximize the starting materials into the final products while minimizing toxicity. Raw materials should be renewable and products should break down and not persist in the environment while reducing derivatives. All experiments should be performed in real time with use of catalysts while minimizing potential chemical accidents.…

Therefore, in recent times, due to global warming and as awareness of environmental dangers have become widespread, there has been increased importance surrounding ‘making IT eco friendly’ or alternatively, the widely popular term, ‘green IT’. Green IT correlates with information technology and the environment as according to Murugesan (2010), it relates to the study and practice of the design, manufacture and use of more efficient and effective computer hardware, software and communication systems in order to help alleviate the carbon footprint and various negative impacts of information technology usage on the environment.…

Green/sustainable design is measured according to environmental, financial and social factors. As focusing on industrial development, humans have destroyed much of the nature. It is essential to accept that humans are dependent on the natural environment for their survival and wellbeing. According to Edwin Datschefski, consultant in environmental management and sustainable product design, green design have to meet the following requisites to achieve sustainability in terms of environmental aspects: all materials for manufacturing products have to be reusable, energy comes from renewable sources such as solar, wind and water power, no hazardous substances are…

"Go Green," the new slogan that promotes saving the environment is being heard everywhere. As I turn on my television or pass a billboard on the highway. The message is loud and clear that the earth is desperately crying out for us humans to start taking care of our domain. According to Green Living, "Going green is about conserving our resources, finding alternative energies, and innovative ways to keep our rivers and oceans cleaner and our landfills smaller. 3,000 years ago, human beings discovered coal and began to burn it in order to get heat and energy, which contributed to people’s lives a lot. However, it brought kinds of problems to the environment. During the process of burning, it produces carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and smoke. Those products may lead to acid rain and global warming that are harmful to the environment. Nevertheless, with the development of technologies, renewable energy sources and green technologies have been created. Thus, most people don’t use coal anymore and the environment has been protected. New technology changes people’s lives every second. How does new technology contributes to sustainable environment on earth? There are four major aspects for new technology to make environment sustainable: it can help people explore sources of renewable energy, it can help people solve pollution problems, it can help people balance the ecosystem, it can encourage people to devote themselves to the science for environment.…

Environmental technologies, such as renewable energies, recycling technologies, technologies for sustainable transport, etc. are increasingly seen as the drivers of future economic growth, while at the same time preserving natural resources and mitigating emissions. This is captured in the OECD’s Green Growth Strategy, which states: “Green growth means fostering economic growth and development while ensuring that natural assets continue to provide the resources and environmental services on which our well-being relies” (OECD 2011). While earlier definitions referred to the growth of specific eco-industries (Jänicke 2011), this new definition calls for a mainstreaming of green growth into “core economic strategies” in acknowledgement of the risks of continued environmental degradation for sustained economic growth.…

Green Chemistry is the making of chemical products that reduces or eliminates the use and production of hazardous substances in the designing, making, and use of chemical products. It involves the designing and re-designing of chemical creation and chemical products to prevent pollution which will therefore solve environmental problems. Green Chemistry is environmentally safe and has very little side effects on human health and the environment.…

Environmental Science, Technology and Sustainability What are You Doing to Help Megan Lade University of Phoenix (Online Campus) Environmental science can be defined in many ways. Whether you discuss physical implications and problems we face today or the methods and technologies created for environmental sustainability, environmental science is a very dynamic field of study that relates to our world and what we are doing to preserve its beauty and resources for future generations. In my mind, the most important aspect of environmental science is education. Knowing what is going on around us and creating ways to effectively live symbiotically with our natural environment (as much as we can) is the answer to preserving our home. Modern technology has put a huge strain on our natural resources and environment, but that is only due to human demand. Due to our constant need for fossil fuels, our emissions destroying our atmosphere are through the roof. Burning gasoline creates carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas linked to global warming on a large scale. According to US Department of Energy, Americans used more than 350 million gallons of gasoline per day, in 2013. To put that into perspective, burning one gallon of gasoline produces more than 19 pounds of carbon dioxide now think about how many miles you drive to and from work in one day and multiply that by the 7 billion people in the world Although technology, as a whole, seems to be tearing apart our environment on a global scale some technology has been created to answer societies need for power and energy while maintaining a very small, if not non-existent, emissions footprint. Harnessing power from the wind is one of the cleanest and most sustainable ways to generate electricity as it produces no toxic pollution or global warming emissions. Wind is also abundant, inexhaustible, and affordable, which makes it a viable and large-scale alternative to fossil fuels (Environmental Impacts of Renewable Energy…

Green Innovations refers to the advance technology supporting business critical computing needs with least possible amount of power or sustainable computing. This represents a dramatic change in priority in IT industry. It came from ever growing business computing needs, fast growing burden of energy cost, growing awareness of global warming issues, and increasing sense of national energy security. Energy is an increasingly scarce and expensive resource. This reality will continue to have a profound effect on how IT solutions are designed, deployed, and used. Most eco-innovations in the IT sector have focused on technological advances in the form of product and process modification or redesign. Rapid economic growth in country and the increasing transboundary movement of secondary resources will increasingly require both 3R endeavors (reduce, reuse, recycle)…

Nowadays, the world tends to be smaller due to rapidly development of advance technologies which provide convenience life to mankind. People seem to focus more on improving their living standard while ignoring their quality of life and environmental well being. More people just realized the problems in this last decade because the problems become more and more important. We consumed vast of un-renewable energy and natural resources such as fossil fuel for the former, and water and forest for the later. Consuming the resources from industries and individuals caused pollution. Also, these resources are limited supply which means that they will be gone in near future, if we do not find any strategies to preserve the resources. Therefore, we have to work more on how to utilize the limited resources efficiently and also find some other alternative renewable natural resources in order to harness the sources along with energy effectively.…
