How does new technology make it easier for humans to create a lifestyle that sustains the environment
Research Question: How does new technology make it easier for humans to create a lifestyle that sustains the environment?
3,000 years ago, human beings discovered coal and began to burn it in order to get heat and energy, which contributed to people’s lives a lot. However, it brought kinds of problems to the environment. During the process of burning, it produces carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and smoke. Those products may lead to acid rain and global warming that are harmful to the environment. Nevertheless, with the development of technologies, renewable energy sources and green technologies have been created. Thus, most people don’t use coal anymore and the environment has been protected. New technology changes people’s lives every second. How does new technology contributes to sustainable environment on earth? There are four major aspects for new technology to make environment sustainable: it can help people explore sources of renewable energy, it can help people solve pollution problems, it can help people balance the ecosystem, it can encourage people to devote themselves to the science for environment.
The first contribution for sustainable environment by new technology is helping people to explore sources of renewable energy. This means that with the help of new technology, people can make full use of natural sources to create green and renewable energy that people cannot image nor realize before. Such as tidal power, wave power, solar power, wind power and so on. According to Jamie Frater (2009), “These sources of energy provide an alternate ‘cleaner’ source of energy, helping to negate the effects of certain forms of pollution. All of these power generation techniques can be described as renewable since they are not depleting any resources to create the energy.” For instance, the wind power, people set wind turbines to transform wind energy into electricity or mechanical energy. In the process of creating energy, there is no consumption of resources. It

There are many ways to conserve natural resources, all we need to do is look around and find a way to minimize the usage of natural resource that we using everyday. For example, turn off the lights when we leave the house; minimize the waste produced by buying less packaged goods and reusable products, and recycling. These are little things we can do to help, and these does not take much effort to do; however, if everybody does the same, we can still make that difference. In the big picture, we can consider using more renewable natural resources such as hydro-power and solar-power. These energy resources are the best ways to conserve natural resource such as fossil fuel. Fortunately, many energy conservative products have been invented: hybrid or electric cars and energy-efficient home appliances. These are the reflections of people’s concern towards the natural resources depletion. On the whole, we need to start do our share to conserve the energy and resource as part of our responsibility to the natural…

Humanity has essential needs such as shelter, food and protection, with continual growth in population, these needs are multiplied. Technology has been used to improve lives by developing electricity, transport and farming equipment and improving health care, education and housing systems. Human beings have a fundamentally competitive nature according to the British Broadcasting Commission News, (2002), that is depleting resources, sending animals and plant species to extinction through deforestation and pollution.…

Technology surrounds almost every aspect of our lives today. It is responsible for the revolution in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, medicine, communication, education, information, transportation, finance and more. The astounding development of technology has drastically changed the lifestyle of people in society. The progress of technology can have both good and bad implications. In many ways, it simplifies life and has beneficial effects on the human condition. However, Technology has also brought many complications into our lives, as we have become almost totally dependent on it. It also pollutes the atmosphere which is posing a big problem to the earth. The positive and negative effect depends on the exposure to it and how people use it.…

Over the years, there has been a huge debate whether using renewable energy is beneficial to our environment or not. The biggest source of our energy has been sourced by coal, oil and natural gasses. Some researchers believe that there are many benefits of using renewable energy and that we should be concerned with seeking environmentally friendly alternatives instead. Not only are these sources harmful, they will eventually deplete our natural resources. The goal is to find pollution-free renewable energy that can offer a better future.…

The sustainability of our environment is crucial in saving the livelihood of the people and the planet. Since we are all interdependent, we will all have to do our part in sustaining our environment for the future. We should always be questioning and doing more about it rather than just talking or ignoring the facts. Most of us do not realize the excessive use of resources we have taken advantage of over the years. Generations past have exploited our planet which has resulted much to the endangered state it is in today. The resources on Earth are finite and they will become extinct whenever the maximum limits are reached. Moreover, not only are we using natural resources to benefit our own needs; after we use them, we often return them back to the earth under worse conditions, in turn progressively threatening the environment.…

On the other hand, technological advances can hurt us in the long run. For most of us, we know life with only cars. We use them in our daily commutes and travels. It adds convenience to our lives and can save us much time. Unfortunately this convenience comes at the price of using various fuels. Some common fuels such as oils are in limited supply and are expected to run dry within decades. These types of fuels also leave behind pollutants such as greenhouse gases, posing as a threat to our environment and ultimately our well-being. Biofuel run the risk of making agriculture too expensive for the lower…

    Is Wind Power Green

These three advantages will show that wind energy is a renewable green energy source. The first advantage is that wind energy is a renewable green source of energy. By the term wind energy, we mean the kinetic energy (motion) in the wind. There are several methods we can use to harness this energy. Wind power is converting wind energy into useful types of energy. Wind turbines convert kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy (rotating turbine blades), which again is converted into electricity by a generator sitting inside the hub of the structure. Harnessing wind energy does not pollute the environment as fossil fuels, coal and nuclear energy does. Other than construction and installation, generating electricity with wind energy does not involve any emissions of climate gases. Wind energy is a renewable source of energy. Wind is naturally occurring and there is no way we can empty the resources (it naturally comes back). Wind energy can be source back to the nuclear fusion processes that takes place on the Sun. In…

What is Renewable Energy? Renewable energy means it comes from a source that's constantly renewed. For instance, the wind keeps blowing, the sun keeps shining, and the Earth keeps heating underground rocks. This energy will be around for as long as the Earth is, so we don't have to worry about running out of it. Solar and wind power is leading the way as the fastest growing technologies among countries committed to reducing the carbon footprint to the Earth’s environment. The more other countries commit to renewable energy, the more it directly contributes in driving the costs down. The cost of fossil fuel is cheap compared to the higher initial investment required with the alternative energy. Renewable energy advantages include: they do not cause green house gases, they improve. The air we breathe, they make domestic electricity, they diversify energy supply and they stimulate economy by creating jobs.…

Wind turbines are used to extract energy from the wind or windpower. We use windmills to use directly mechanic energy by machinery, besides wind turbines which are the topic of my article are used to convert mechanical energy to electric energy. Lets take a look at the history of wind power, windmill and the wind turbine.…

Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source and consumes no fuel for operation with no emissions and zero pollution to produce the electricity. The most comprehensive study to date found the potential of wind power on land and near-shore to be approximately 72 terawatts. It converting 20% of potential wind energy to electricity only to satisfy the world 's energy demands. It also use in other country such as India. At present day, the world’s population is getting more and more concerned about the activities which can lead the global warming and pollution to the environment. For example, residential owners used up large amount of power and become a major source of global warming since it produced 10 to 30 tons of carbon dioxides annually. Every individual have to play the roles in protecting the earth from any pollution of environment. Green technologies can be used to protect the earth from environment pollution. A green technology is one of the efforts to reduce the impacts to the environment. Although green technology have been around for countries but they are only practiced mostly in Western countries.…
