Green Hr
Green HR is one which involves two essential elements: environmentally friendly HR practices and the preservation of knowledge capital.Green HR involves reducing your carbon footprint via less printing of paper, video conferencing and interviews, etc.Companies are quick to layoff when times are tough before realizing the future implications of losing that knowledge capital. Green HR initiatives help companies find alternative ways to cut cost without losing their top talent; furloughs, part time work, etc.

by Sonia Simplicia Furtado, HR Executive, Apollo Victor Hospital | 2 years ago bring Green Hr to the notice of the employees is definately needeed but before that I feel that Practices and Principles need to be first brought to the notice of the Top Level Management. Once they approve of the idea/ they desire to practise Green HR, the idea/concept will automatically transfer to the middle/lower middle level management and thus the concept of Green HR will be implemented. the functioning of the concept will also be smooth as there will be no hurdles tht Green HR will have to face.
The HR manager must be aware of the carbon emission by the employees. here they must aware employees about the carbon footprints. the focus should be teaching employees how to reduce their cabon footprints. HR should encourage people to abstain from creation activities like unnecessary print outs, xerox, switching off lights, fans, ACs after office hour etc.
The best way to aware employees about GREEN HR is to conduct a research study among them to understabd their knowledge and then thereafter conduct learning

Human Resources would need to address the organizational culture and develop a plan to enhance their values and beliefs. Currently they do not have any set guidelines to inform employees on what the proper behavior is or their expectation within the company. Set guidelines would need to be formatted and communicated to all managers first. This way they can review and provide any additional input or ask questions as needed. By gaining the managers buy-in first they will be able to communicate the changes to their employees more effectively. Once the managers sign off the HR Manager should communicate the changes in writing to all employees. The guidelines that should be outlined would be values, behaviors, quality, productivity, attendance and tardiness. By incorporating guidelines into the company the managers will see an initial drop in engagement and morale, however once the employees see the results both should begin to improve.…

The "best fit" school of thought argues that HR strategy will be more effective when it is appropriately integrated with its specific organizational and broader environmental context (Boxall and Purcell 2003). This proposes questions about which are the most critical contingencies in this context and how they are best connected. The ‘best practice' school of thought argues that all firms will see performance improvements if only they identify and implement best practice. This perspective requires top management to commit themselves to key HR practices. Basically, the idea is that a particular bundle of HR practices has the potential to contribute improved employee attitudes and behaviours, lower levels of absenteeism and labour turnover, and higher levels of productivity, quality and customer service. This has the ultimate effect of generating higher levels of profitability (Boxall and Purcell 2003).…
