Theme : World Of Stories
Topic : Simple Past Tense ( regular & irregular verbs )
Skills : Listening, Reading and Writing
Learning Standards : 5.1.3
Objectives : Pupils should be able to;
(i) identify the irregular and regular forms of verbs in the story.
(ii) answer 4 out of 6 questions using irregular form of verbs in sentences correctly.
Teaching Aids : Text of the story / Words

Previous Knowledge: Pupils have been expose on the difference between “Present Tense and Past Tense

Steps:
INTRODUCTION
(5 Minutes)

Set Induction.
1. Teacher asks pupils to sit in a group of 4
2. Teacher gives instructions ; each group will send one member to do one action/verb in front. Then the other group will say the action/verb in form of Past Tense.
3. After its done, teacher promise to gives the answer/result at the end of the lesson.

PRESENTATION
(20 Minutes)

1. Teacher shows some example of “regular” and “irregular” verbs

2. Teacher explains the different between regular and irregular verbs.
3. Teachers drills pupils to read a few verbs.
4. Teacher ask each group to write a verb on a piece of paper.
5. Each group will show their paper to the other group.
6. The other group will identify whether it is regular or irregular verb

PRACTICE
(15 Minutes)

1. Teacher distribute the story “Si Tanggang” to the pupils.
2. Teacher asks pupils to identify the regular and irregular verbs in the story
3. Pupils read the story and complete the table below;

PRODUCTION
(15 Minutes)

1. Teacher distribute worksheet of today lesson and let them do own their own.
2. Teacher gives guidance when necessary
3. After all pupils have completed the task, teacher discuss the answer

    Some people say that learning foreign language should be an activity in which the learners try to use that language as often as possible, not only try to know about that language which means the learners only try to understand the grammar.
