The National Constituent Assembly solved some of Frances short term problems, but caused significant discontent due to its inability to resolve long term problems, that had been destroying France economically, politically and socially. There were some groups of society that were quite content with the reforms of the Constituent Assembly, such as a majority of the bourgeoisie, peasants who gained from the abolition of the Feudal system, and some members of the first and second Estate. However, many other people and groups, such as King Louis XVI, Nobles who had become emigres after losing their land, clergy who had refused to swear allegiance to the new state, loyal Catholics, the Sans Culottes and a rapidly growing republican movement, that were unhappy with the Constituent Assembly. It was in these later groups that the brewing discontent lay, but none shared a common discontent, and few shared a common goal. It would be the most radical of these reactionary groups, who seized leadership of the French people, in the nation's time of need.…

Facts: The Governor of Karnataka had reported to the President that there were dissensions and defections in the existing ruling party as nineteen letters were sent to him by the council of ministers from withdrawing their support. He also stated that on the withdrawal of the support in the ruling party, the Chief Minister (S.R. Bommai) also failed to call in for majority of assembly, which is inappropriate under the Constitution. And so, the State is to be administered by the Centre. It was seen that seven out of the nineteen legislators have complained about misrepresentation in their respective letters and therefore, the Chief Minister and the Law Minister met the Governor the same day to summon the Assembly to prove the confidence of assembly in his government. The same was forwarded to the President through telex message. But on the very same day, Governor has sent another report stating that the Chief Minister has lost confidence of the majority of the House and requested for President’s Proclamation under Art 356 and eventually the same was granted.…

73rd Amendment act also called ‘Paradigm Shift’. Topic of my discussion is Rural-Development keeping intact ancient values of Indian heritage. Rural development means development of lifestyle of people of village. But there are so many rural people who come to town and spent their day and night at footpaths and slums for the food and money. So while discussing about rural development, we must not forget their case also. Recent statistics says that out of 123 crores of Indian population, almost 49 crores belong to below poverty line. This reflects in a government report. According to 2011 Global Hunger Index report India places 78th out of 81 developing countries studied. There are so many villages where people do not even get clear drinking water. Millions people are spending days with half or sometimes empty stomach. Common people do not get the minimum of medical or healthcare facilities provided by the government. Treatment of serious and expensive diseases is beyond the reach of the common people. From the point of communication, roads are not in good condition in so many villages and in many villages there is no road at all. Billion and billion of people are submerged in the darkness of illiteracy. But Swamiji says, “Our national-life lies into the cottage of poor”. The poor of India are like gods not like devils as in the Western countries.…
