Government As A Deviant Subculture
America, a great country that I have lived in since the day I was born. But as I got older a lot of things changed over the years. For example, our government has certain parts that are corrupt, and people are judged for who they are. These problems are what need to change for the future of America.
American government is a deviant subculture. Its leaders stand on soapboxes and polarize the public by pointing fingers while secretly doing the bidding of special interests. Many public employees plod through life with their noses in rule books, indifferent to the actual needs of the public and unaccountable to anyone. Our government is almost completely isolated from the public it supposedly serves.

Just like 1984, Brave New World also derives a theme from government control. Brave New World''s theme is destruction of human instincts and nature for happiness and control leads to ignorance and unhappiness. First, on the baby-making-tour, Mr. Foster says, “Reducing the number of revolutions per minute, […] The surrogate goes round slower; therefore passes through the lung at longer intervals; therefore gives the embryo less oxygen. Nothing like oxygen-shortage for keeping an embryo below par. […] The lower the caste […] the shorter the oxygen. The first organ affected was the brain. After that the skeleton. At seventy per cent of normal oxygen you got dwarfs. At less than seventy eyeless monsters” (14). In the process of making a baby, the officials reduce oxygen to determine the baby's social…

America. The greatest country in the world, or so we thought. The current state of the country isn’t the best, as it has it’s pros and cons, yet it isn’t horrible. We have many things going for us, such as our strong military, our booming economy, and our relatively low unemployment rate. But we also have a negative side, which includes our national debt, high costing health insurance, and the large taxes we have to pay. Overall, there is some bad with the good, and vice versa.…

America, land of the free and home of the brave, a country strengthened with rights, equality, and justice. For Americans it’s just a regular country, with regular rules and laws, nothing special about it. Although, to immigrants it’s a country to reinterpret their lives, a better life, a life where they’re free to pursue their happiness and follow their dreams. Even though America is a great country, adjusting to a new culture isn’t easy. It took patience, support, understanding, and passion in order for me to balance two different cultures.…

When I think about the American government seven words come to my head and those words are “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Those words define what are government has been created for. It was created by the people for the people and today I think America is falling away from those beliefs that are founding fathers wrote so long ago. So how does America get back on track? Well for one I think the American Government has forgotten that this country has been blessed by The Lord our God and in doing so I think America is suffering for it. That’s just one subject that I think is wrong with the American Government but I’m going to talk a lot more than just that. I’m going to talk about the good and bad of The Constitution, Federal and State governments, the political party system, Civil Rights, Taxes and government spending, Government control of the economy, Socialism versus Capitalism, and the Checks and Balance System.…
