Good Citizen
How to be a good citizen:
To be a good citizen, it acquires a set of rules and regulations. You have to be full of values, principles, ethics etc. Human beings are used to living under laws and patterns that are dictated to us by society, but following those patterns does not make us good citizens. To be a good citizen, first you have to be a good person. All these aspects together will help you find out that there is nothing else you need to be a good citizen.
One important aspect for being a good citizen is to help people. There are always people in need of help that surround us. Our job as good citizens is to help those kinds of people. Where you stand in society does not matter. There is no poor and there is no rich. Little things like helping an elderly women cross the street can made a difference.
The importance of being a good citizen is to participate in your community. There are a lot of ways we can do that. When elections come for voting for the governor, we have to be in the line ready to give our vote. When there is a gathering of our neighborhood for deciding about the maintenance of the streets, we have to be there to tell our point of view.
The last aspect for being a good citizen is the respect toward the people that live around us. We have to remember that everyone has rights. Respect is one of the most important bases when living in a society. Freedom is only to a certain extent. For instance, thieves are not good citizens since they violated the rules. In essence, these are the most important aspects for being good citizens inside a community. Values and ethics is what people need to help shape them into being good

“We can’t all be Washingtons, but we can all be patriots.” Writer Charles F. Browne says this, meaning that we can’t all be perfect but we can be patriotic in our own ways. We can’t help the nation as much as Washington did but we can still help the government as much as possible. To be an American is to pursue unique and individual ideas and freedoms to benefit the central government. This includes the rights that the Founding fathers created. These rights are shown with the rejection of tyrants, the right to vote, and the first amendment.…

Without their participation and support, this country would never get anywhere. One responsibility that citizens have to follow is that they must respect the laws that are stated in their state and city. If nobody followed the rules then havoc would wreak in the country and everybody would be able to do all these bad things. Another responsibility is that citizens need to pay taxes on time. If taxes were not paid on time or were not paid at all, then the country wouldn’t have money to create anything new.…

These same values contribute to the strength of a society as well. It is important for people to stay loyal to their community, especially in times of need. For example, after a hurricane or a tornado, it is crucial that community members stay loyal and do not desert their community. Every ounce of help is needed during those hard times and it is important for community members to realize this. Love is always important in contributing to the strength of a society. There will always be people in our community who are not as fortunate as others. As such, it is necessary for community members to show love and give back to their community, by donating money or food, working in a soup kitchen, or by providing shelter, water, or clothes. Lastly, it is necessary that all show respect to their community. One can do this by simply not littering and recycling. This helps to keep the community clean and shows respect to the community and to nature. All of these values contribute to the strength of a society because they all pertain to the wellness of the community. Being loyal to the community helps in times of need, as people come together and build relationships. Showing love to those who are less fortunate than others strengthens the community as well, as it can help remove those from such bad situations. Finally, showing respect to our community helps to strengthen society as it contributes to the…

As a daughter of the American Revolution, I believe dependability, service, leadership and patriotism are essential to being a good citizen. These words describe how it is important to focus on deeds that are larger than us. To me, there is more to life than worrying about how I look and how popular I am. These qualities reassure that I go out of my way for others who need it. Not everyone can stand up for themselves; I recognize when a situation is wrong and understand it is my duty to advocate for these people. By doing this, I put others before myself by demonstrating the care for others rather than what people think about me.…

Integrity, respect, and a drive to make the world and people around you are essential parts as well. One of my favorite quotes is “Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.” - W. Clement Stone. I try to apply this quote to my life daily. Doing what is right, and facing things that scare you for the greater good are two things that I focus on. Respecting others is a silent way of showing value for others. By listening and encouraging others to share their thoughts, you honor their personal rights. Having a drive to make everything around you better is one of the most important qualities to me. I attempt to help the environment better by volunteering in trash cleanups, reducing my plastic use, and by being vegetarian. I help the people around me by sharing opportunities, explaining hard topics, and by supporting others in their endeavors. I make an effort to be the total student for myself, my peers, and my community. I should be considered for Minnesota Honor Society because I meet, and exceed the qualifications of a member. Thank you for this amazing…
