Golden Egg Greed
In order for your life to be great you must first learn to appreciate it. This theme reflects in the fables “The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg”, by Nicky Grischotti and “The Dog and His Reflection”, by Tony Payne they both show that you should appreciate what you have and to not be greedy for more.
In “The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg”, the theme, don’t be greedy and appreciate what you have, is shown from beginning to the end. For instance, Atticus Greeb, the main character, inherits a large farm from his father. Instead of using the farm to make money by working, he sells it piece by piece except for a goose for money. This shows he was greedy because he could’ve produced fruits and vegetables and sold them for money but he was lazy, sat around, and ended up selling his farm. In the story their is a dog whose name is patch and he is a good dog, but then turns bad, and when he turns bad he gets greedy. For an example, all the dogs got biscuits but he was mean to them so he would get them first, and he would eat all of them. This shows greediness because he wanted all of them and he only needed a few. After this, the farmer was making some some meat for his family, but the dog came in and took the meat from him. Then he ran away with the meat for him to eat. As you can see he is greedy because he had his dog biscuits but those weren’t enough for him so he took meat. One more reason why he wasn’t appreciating what he had is, once he got to a place to stop and eat his meat he sees another dog with meat and in the process of trying to get it he loses his meat. Once again he was greedy, because he could have been good with what he had, but he needed more, and because of that he ended up with
