GMO Tobacco Research Paper
Analyzing the Risks and Benefits of GMOs
Perform and Record

3.
The companies use tobacco to express the necessary proteins. They will first identify the viral protein that the vaccine will target and then finds the genetic sequence that codes for it, that DNA is inserted into a bacterium. The plants are then dipped into a solution of the bacteria where it will soak up the virus.

The vaccine will go through many tests and trials to be approved. It has gotten funding from many medical companies and such including DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). It is also approved by the IDRI (Infectious Disease Research Institute) but must have an overall approval by the FDA.

Recently, Medicago (producer) has exceeded the CHMP (Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use) criteria in their 3 configurations. The positive clinical results say that the vaccine is best in class. In April 2013 it had finished its Phase I clinical trial and was expected to continue to Phase II in May 2013. It has yet to be approved by the FDA.

4.
There are no issues to this GMO because it is healthy and would not harm you.

5.
-Everyone can benefit from this because the flu infects and kills many each year.
-It promotes healthy living and protection against a virus.
-There are no risks to the environment
-There are no risks to this GMO, but there are many benefits including the fact that it is cheaper than the alternative (eggs), and that it produces more.

Analyze and Interpret

The GMO should continue to be produced and should be released earlier. There are no risks to this and there are many benefits like the production time is faster than the alternative, it is less costly, and it is helping people.

How will this affect the world and the people? These are all questions the people are asking of their manufacturing companies, their government and the scientist who have created this process. They have to answer to the public to show why and how they did this and what can be benefited from it. Ultimately in the end it will be up to the people if they want this process or if they will discontinue the use of anything that has been GMO. Bibliography / References Ben Kolle.…

The risks to our health and exposed for using genetically modified crops or plants have not been yet proven because we are too early in the game of this genetically modification and engineering process. Thinking that this is a small solution to our problem for hunger and feeding Americans, then maybe they are just creating more problems that may not have solutions for in the future. However, the US National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine, states otherwise. In a new report that details how genetically modified organisms are apparently safe for human consumption and surprisingly, also have significant benefits for human health and the environment(FDA.org). They base their findings on an intensive and detailed report with past studies about GMOs. The many interviews with scientists, researchers and field experts that have data stating that they are not bad for one’s health. This helps determine whether it is good or bad for the health when it comes to eating genetical modified foods. They even have a new study that suggests that when crops are being engineered to improve human health, by altered to produce more vitamins or nutrients. This might be one good side of it, but why should we playing with mother nature? This is a big gamble we are…

The concern regarding GMOs is understandable. The world is changing and everything humans use and consume have a consequence. However, to assume that GMOs are naturally bad is a naive and uninformed opinion. GMOs are revolutionizing the world and must be allowed an unbiased chance in consumer markets. After all, many of the cures and inventions we take for granted today were surrounded by controversy and paranoia in their early days, similarly to GMOs…

To answer the question ‘’Are GMOs Safe To Eat?’’ I personally don’t believe they are because, there is not enough research looking into the long term effects and I don’t believe we are told the whole truth when it comes to this social and ethical topic, but GMOs can benefit us if proper regulations and safety checks are done. The biggest concern I have is actually not food safety, but the environmental impact. GMOs can be toxic to other organisms, can create huge ecological shifts and, biodiversity is put into risk. In conclusion, I believe there are many negatives and there will be complex consequences in the future but unfortunately I will still continue to consume…

Def/Explanation: Firstly, GMO is an acronym for Genetically Modified Organisms. What this concept is can be briefly explained by the following analogy. Suppose I take Iman* and Ibrahim* to take part in a science experiment. I take some of Iman’s genes, duplicate it and put it in Ibrahim’s body. Then I present Ibrahim in front of you all and tell you that this new Ibrahim is far stronger, efficient and beneficial to all of you and the society. You guys don’t know anything that has happened with Ibrahim internally and are just brainwashed that he is better for us. Similarly, GMOs are created but instead of humans they’re experimented on crops and animals. Therefore, because it is inhumane, defies the laws of nature and have consequences that are unknown to us, I strongly believe that GMOs should be completely banned from our society, once and for all!…
