Glory Days High school is supposed to be the best years of a teenager’s life and for me it was. The first high school I ever attended was Eldorado high school, home of the Sundevils. The first day of my freshman year I woke up to my mom’s voice that morning, “Get up!” she yelled from my room door. It was the perfect morning, the smell of pancakes and bacon coming from the kitchen and my dad ironing my clothes before he goes to work. The first day of my freshman year was just like any other freshman’s. I walked to each of my classes nervously in those crowded and long hallways but mostly filled with excitement because I knew there was a lot of exciting adventures to come. After the first couple of months I was no longer a random girl that walked the wall ways. Everyone I associated with called me Nayynayy, that nickname stuck with me throughout my whole high school career.

Until I started hanging around this girl named Jessica, I really didn’t hang around her any of my other years that I went to Eldorado and the only reason I starting hanging around her was because we had a student aide class together. Everything started out great, she wasn’t the best student throughout high school but since it was her senior year, she wanted to straighten up. One day, in our student aide class she had stolen an Iphone from a student. The school caught her on camera with it in her hands but they assumed since I was in the class with her and we walked out together that I knew about it, I was later called an accessory to a

When I first arrived at high school, I was extremely nervous. The school was huge and there was not a familiar face in site. Although I was nervous, staff and students did their best to create a positive learning environment. Going into my sophomore year, I received the same positive energy from the staff and my peers. My guidance counselor, Ms. Hunter, helped me to prepare and offered me the opportunity to enroll in…

At the beginning of the movie “Glory” there is an obvious segregation between whites and blacks, captain Shaw seemed to be of the vast minority that treated African American’s with some sort of decency. Shaw was hard on his men but only because he wanted them to be great soldiers. The overall attitude towards African American’s is what you would expect from the time. Most white men look at themselves as far superior as the black men. Even though the African Americans have volunteered to risk their lives as soldiers, they still all feel basically as slaves and tread lightly around officers. Captain Shaw along with the rest of the white men in the camp have a hard time relating at all to the black men because of how different their lives were up to that point.. Captain Shaw believes highly in treating all men equally, unlike the rest of his white counterparts.…

Yes, it is different. The "Defender of the Fatherland Day" as a rule celebrates with family or friends. We do not really celebrate it as something big. However, the "Victory day" we celebrate by the same way with the Veterans Day. We have a military parade and fireworks at night. As usual before that day our veterans can be invited to schools, colleges and universities for sharing their experience.…

Starting high school was a terrifying idea to me. Different teachers, class times, lockers, drama! I remember that I always looked up to my older sister while she was in high school. She had tons of friends, played sports, participated in student government, and went out for the school play. I wanted to be just like her when I started high school. In middle school, I lined myself up for this, I played soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. I helped out in the school plays, and I joined the student government. I had a group of great friends, and thought nothing bad was going to happen.…

It was December 24, 1918 in the trenches of France. I was looking around the trenches at my comrades. The desperation on each face was heart wrenching. We had not had meat in over a month. The snow was a foot thick blanketing the entire landscape. The trench look like it was on fire with the breath of smoke leaving each tired mans mouth.…

The first year year sped past us and we wer already sophomores, again it raced past us and we were juniors. Unfortunatley junior year didnt pass by as quickly, we were being attacked each one being targeted separately and the goal; our freandship. Someone wasnt happy with our group of freinds being toghether so they decided to break us up over social media. Agt first we were all sticking toghether to find and defeat our villain. Then suddenly a dense fog rolled in blinding us. No one was able to tell who was kicking who, everyone became a suspect. Especially a crtain someone who just happened to be my freind of 10 years, there was justified reason she was under the light. She had apparently doen bad to many, including me. No matter how much i wanted to believe it wasnt her my subcosncoius kept sticking it back into my head that she had stabbed me too many times, and put me in too many situations. I slowly felt the shodow coming back, she found out how i felt and stopped speaking to me. The malicous intagrammer started backing off, Coincedence? I tried to tell her it was “jsut a mistake i dint mean to blame her”, that didnt work she was furious and “heartbroken” “Did you really believ i would do such a thing”. For some reason it made me sick when she said such things, as if i had been the one who tried to destroy everyones life. She loved…

Waking up on the morning of the first day of high school felt like butterflies took over my stomach. I had to put together an impressing outfit, fix my hair, and put on appealing makeup. Knowing that in about an hour I would be entering a totally different school environment than what I’m used to frightened me. Within every period of the school day, the butterflies started to flutter out of my stomach and into my new learning atmosphere. Although students tend to fear high school and think it is a nightmare to transition from middle school to the next level, attending high school is not much of a dramatic change.…

Growing up we all looked forward to starting high school, but how many of us enjoyed every bit of it? High school was a moment that I looked forward to; thoughts of doing what I finally wanted to flood my mind. In June 2008, I received my GSAT result and was delighted when I saw that I passed for the William Knibb Memorial High School; although a bit disappointed because it wasn’t on my top five list. High school was not everything that I expected. In a few days, I met a few nice people. The first week of school was amazing, but after a few weeks things started getting intense. High school; however, was no bed of roses, especially when it came onto the subjects, reports, and school rules.…

It’s my freshman year in high school, and I must admit, so far high school is even worse than middle school. Despite the fact that I have 1,675 more days to go to finally graduate, being bullied and named called is worse than eating my grandma’s Brussels’ sprout. After middle school, I had hopes that things would get better. I was always the laidback kid that had no friends. I’ve was always considered as the quaint and unusual guy who barely had friends. Despite all that, some days, I was both happy and sad; and I always tried figuring out how that could be. There were some days that it got really bad that I even had suicidal thoughts. I guess I was tired up of all the lonesomeness, the embarrassment, and the fear.…
