GLOBAL CULTURE
Culture is the characterized morals, belief, laws, customs, capabilities, behaviors and habits exhibited by a group of people or organization through continuous interaction. With the constant interchange of ideas, meanings and values across the world globe by people with diverse culture through the use of rapid global communication, it stands to reason that will be a merging of ideas and values thereby giving room for a globalize culture.
Evidences of an emerging global culture in the world today cannot be overlooked. Some of this evidences can be seen through adaptation in languages, dressing style, music and even preferences in food choices across the world. English is seen as a second language across the world and it is spoken in almost every country in fact it is a necessity if one want to communicate across the globe as most worldwide communication is carried out in English. Also the wearing of jean and the now popular white gown for bride is an evidence of an emerging culture. Most countries have their own traditional attires but due to influences from other cultures particularly the western world, attires have changes or been adapted. Using Nigeria as a case study, for one to be regarded as properly married, one has to do both the traditional marriage with its home based customs and the popular white wedding known across the world. Also there is hardly a country without the fast food restaurant with originated from the American culture. Burgers, chicken and fries or chips as known as by others is now a universally accepted way of life.
The question is what do the emerging global culture spells for the future? In terms of technology, economic and social development not all the countries of the world are on the same level. Some are more developed than others and in the same term, show more dominances. The western world has more capabilities than other parts of the world so there cultures tend to dominant through their more advanced ways
