These days the recycling program is a necessity for daily life and the environment. Having the U.S. get rid of the recycling program would have multiple negative effects on the environment. By depreciating the amount of trash, it helps reduce the need to harvest new materials. Also, by recycling you are helping the community, hugely. By getting rid of this program the environment and the community around it will suffer.

If the trash is continuity dumped in a landfill many miles away you just happen to forget about it, however people won’t forget if a landfill just happens to fall next to a home. Well with the growing amount of trash the amount of landfill space is growing smaller and smaller. A portion of the material is burned emitting harmful gasses to the surrounding land. The majority, however, is thrown into a landfill and forgotten. “Liquids that get thrown away will seep through the ground and could harm the soil.” (unknown). For example, most recycling centers are sorted by hand, causing for people to have to pay for constant salaries. Even if we switch to machines to save more money, it will still cost a great deal of money. Although this does create more trash, landfills might not be a huge problem in the future.
