George's Marvel Medicine Literary Devices
Good Morning/Afternoon Mrs. Heerschop and 7.3. Today I Will be presenting my poem about George’s Marvellous Medicine. This story is a about a boy named George who wants to create a medicine to change his Grandma into a better person. George starts searching in the kitchen to find the right kind of saucepan that he can use to start his medicine off in. He finally finds the saucepan that's he needs until he hears Grandma’s voice, he then tells her that he is doing nothing and then it goes silent. He heads upstairs and begins in the Bathroom where he finds all sorts of extraordinary items he will use for his medicine.

The poetic structure I have used is free verse. Free verse is a type of poetry that does not rhyme or have any rhyming tune that can be heard in it. The poem can tell a story describing a person, animal, feeling or object. Free verse was easier for me to use. No rhyming patterns are easier for you to use more words instead of thinking of words to rhyme with the type of story you are doing. George’s marvellous medicine did not really explain any message for mood throughout the book.

My poetry notebook contains selections relating to different events and feelings, this helps create a variety of emotions. For example, my notebook starts with a poem title “Summer Shower,” this poem is quite humble and presents itself as a calm melody. In perspective, this poem is followed by a piece titled “Vietnam,” a poem that explains the devastating repercussions of a tragic American war. Throughout the notebook no distinct pattern is followed; humor is mixed with sadness and anger is mixed with happiness. I believe that this structure gives the notebook character and keeps the reader interested in a large assortment of art.…

In addition, Tennyson's use of rhyme scheme with the repetition of statements and words puts emphasis on certain lines which in turn provides development for the tone. Whatever be the structure of a modern poem, there is a hidden meaning and rhythm of course. Even, that particular structure bears significance. That beauty and meaning cannot be interpreted by traditional readers. Others, of course, prefer traditional poetry, but I do not think either is more effective than the other; they just cater to different tastes. Just like when it comes to tastes in music, some people like country others prefer rap. Just because one become before the other doesn’t make it the right one and the other wrong, it makes them…

    * Before I provide my examples, I want to explain that literary devices (I call them conventions sometimes too) are like strategies. That is, authors of fiction or drama or poetry engage with these devices (these strategies), first because they are what readers expect of them, but second because these devices assist authors in communicating deeper meanings, expressing things artistically, making the writing more vivid, producing layers that make the piece more complex but therefore resembling reality. Though keep in mind that writers often write their truth and don't actually choose the literary devices we apply to the stories, poems, and plays (readers have a great deal of power in their reading as they interpret and assume).…
