Genetics The Environment And Random Chance Essay
Do genetics, the environment, and random chance really affect someone's chance in developing cancer? With the research and class notes these factors do play a role in the development of one's cancer. Although some of these factors are minimal, as in endometrial cancer I researched, they do affect your chance of developing cancer. From genetics to random chance we will look at how these play a role in developing cancer.
The one factor that seems to contribute to the development in cancer is genetics.

Thinking back to a cancer game we played in class, some environmental factors were counted as low points. Low risk environmental factors can add up in the big picture, therefore, putting you at risk to develop certain cancers. I ended up having cancer in this game multiple times This goes to show you how the environment can impact the chances of cancer. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
As the last factor for developing cancer the one I found to be the most impacting was random chance. I asked myself is cancer really so random, and I said both yes and no. There can be many factors that go into random chance for developing cancer. Once more I refer to
Endometrial cancer. Random chance was the biggest factor in this cancer. You can develop this cancer from an abnormal amount of estrogen. This is a very random thing that happens to women and can cause this cancer. Most women who have this cancer know why it was caused, but not why or how it could have happened to them. It was not the environment nor the genetic side of anything, so what could it be? It’s really just random. Other cancers as well do this we may know how it was caused, but the real question is why.
