Genesis Vs. The Norse Creation Myth
In the Norse creation story of Odin and Ymir, there are multiple gods that all lend a hand in the creation of the earth. Where as in Genesis, there is one god who creates the earth. In the Norse creation story, the humans were created from logs on the beach. In Genesis, Adam was made of dust from the ground and breath of life, and Eve was made from Adam's rib. In Genesis Man was created second, in comparison to the Gods being second in Norse. In addition, God was created first in Genesis, and in the Norse Creation Ymir the frost giant was created first. Throughout the Norse Creation Story, it portrays the gods as being closer in equality with everything else on earth.
