Gender Stereotypes
The event I identify with the most is the scene when the little girl is hiding under her bed and her dad comes home and makes everything better. No matter how scared she was her dad came home and he made all her fears go away with a simply, made up story that made her feel safe. It is hard for me to identify with the Middle Eastern family because they are in constant fear of being robbed and being discriminated towards and I as a blonde, teenage, caucasian girl do not have those problems.
2. The scene that affected me most was when the Middle Eastern man “shot” the little girl. All she wanted to do was go to her daddy and save him and she nearly died in the process.

The characters treated each other very poorly. If you were a different skin tone, you were discriminated against. When a different race was discriminated, they sometimes lashed out in anger towards the race doing the discriminatory action.
5. Racism in this movie is obvious. Discrimination is shown when Mrs. Cabot gets angry about the Hispanic man that changes the locks in their home after their car was stolen by two African American men just hours before. In real life people act the same way Mrs. Cabot did. Her actions were not a new thing never heard of before. Many people get scared when African Americans are in the area and sometimes people avoid African American neighborhoods due to scared feelings and stories that come from …show more content…
I disagree with this statement. Throughout the film, the cast is constantly scared of other races but they didn't have to be. Your parents raise you to be the person they would like you to be but you do not have to stay racist if you don't want to and you don't have to become a racist if you do not want to. A time that I have been aware of my own prejudice was when my uncle took a wrong turn in Chicago and we ended up in a very bad neighborhood and I got scared that some gang banger would come and try to take our car when maybe it was a nice area it just didn't look like it because other people ruined it. My neighborhood is fairly new and it is very nice, but a lot of black families have moved in over the years and for some reason the kids across the street call my sister and I racist because we are not friends with them and we would not let them jump on your trampoline and they thought it was because they are black but really we just don't talk to them and they are mean to our dogs so we don't want them in our backyard. Prejudice can be overcome by just being a good -person and being kind to everyone you come in contact with and letting younger generations see you do these nice things so they grow up and be nice to minorities
