CONCERN FOR EMPLOYEES

Marriott's concern for employees starts with its "Guarantee of Fair Treatment" policy, an internal, decentralized means for all employees to express problems and have them resolved in a timely manner. On a day-to-day basis managers must sincerely
1. Communicate with employees: Communicating with employees is essential to show people that the company is sincerely interested in them as individual’s management. Wherever possible, Marriott is committed to getting its people to participate in every decision that affects them. This communication and participation process results in employees being more motivated, more enthusiastic about their jobs, happier in their work, and much more effective.
2. Meet employee needs: Building employee loyalty, pride, team spirit, and morale all begin by meeting needs. In addition to formal policies, unwritten standards exist in any business. They actively encourage the use of talents and skill in the employees and give them an opportunity to grow in the company through excellent career development. Great commitment towards work is what employees are expected show, and they are given due recognition whenever they deliver it through ‘Recognition Programs’ held every month end as well as every year end (for overall performance). Employees are encouraged to vote for eligible candidates in their department for various categories. Special drop box are kept in the cafeteria to collect the nominations. Department head’s discretion is also involved in the nomination. Final verdict is given by the Executive Committee that chooses selected candidates for each category.
The following categories are involved:
Support Champ of the month/year – This is awarded to that working casual
(contractual employee) who is best performer in his field.
Token – Cash upto 3000/- credited to the salary.
Number of persons awarded – 2.
Associate of the month/year – This is awarded to that associate who
