Future Career Research Paper
When I was a young child, I could never decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. Every child around me had constructed elaborate plans for their futures, but unlike them, I was unsure. Despite this, I knew I wanted to change the world when I grew up. My earliest memories of deciding my future career come from when I was about 6 years old. At first, I decided that I would grow up to become a police officer. The idea of keeping people safe was what appealed to me. I wanted to be the person to save people from danger, and inspire others with my bravery. As I grew older, I started saying that I wanted to be a teacher. My reasoning behind this, was that I wanted to influence others, and help change their lives with education. When I started to mature, I began to hone in on the subjects that were my favorite to study. Year after year, science was the subject that never ceased to fascinate me. Every facet of science, from astronomy to the periodic table, amazed me. I wanted to learn more. At this time, I was entering high school, and realized that choosing my future career was becoming a legitimate decision. I knew that science was the subject I wanted to primarily focus on, but I also knew that I wanted to help others. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to work in the healthcare industry. Many people try to warn me of the difficulties of being a nurse, but I have never let these comments hinder my determination. I am willing to endure the difficulties of being a nurse, to make sickness less difficult for patients. Being a nurse would give me the opportunity to help patients in many different healthcare settings. I would get to interact with people, and know that I am changing their lives for the better.
