Friendship and Locker Room
I want you to do me a favor: I want you to take a moment and think about the people in your life, whether it is a family member, a teacher, a boyfriend or girlfriend, a coworker, that fellow driver who cut you off on the freeway, or that person you said hello to in the locker room last week. But, most importantly, I want you to think about those people who you call your friends. What makes them deserve these positions in your life? How do you define the different friendships that have evolved up until this exact moment? What is friendship? Friendship is very precious. True friends are worth more than all of the gold in the world. Friends are those people who like you for who you are, and who know all of the good and not so good things about you, but still love and accept you regardless. They are the people who are always there for you; not just through the good times, but through the bad times as well. Friends try their best to help each other, even if they don't fully understand the other person. A friend is someone who can always make you laugh when you are down, and cry with you when you are hurt, because it pains them to see you weak. If you ever need a hug or a kind word, your friend is right there beside you. A friend is someone who can make you smile during the worst of times, and make you think during the hardest of times.

The men's locker room is known as the shrine of men and center of fraternal bonding. According to Timothy Jon Curry, "fraternal bond is usually considered to be a force, link, or affectionate tie that unites men". Fraternal bonding is done through sports whenever they have the chance to talk about whatever is in their mind they would do it. It's the reason men use to get close to one another, and share their secrets or past experiences. Fraternal bonding is based on two elements. On element is the "nature of male culture" and the other is "how male athletes view women".…

Friends are those people who surround us with care and love. When life is so dark and all doors are closed, friends are that hope you can stand by. The word friend means exactly what it is, just a word. The pure substance behind the word no longer bares any true meaning and feeling behind it. I have learned to limit the use of the word and can only call a select few a true friend. Growing up I thought I was popular because I had so many friends. However little did I know that instead of calling these people friends, I should have substituted the word for acquaintances, or in the future outlook of it all, maybe even enemies. A friend is supposed to be there for you through thick and thin. Friends stick by your side no matter what and have your best interest in hand. There for, these people I considered friends, were not my friends, but bad influences.…

The first realization I came to was that friends are more than people I may occasionally see in passing, or at social events. Although these people may be friendly and fun to be around, I consider them acquaintances, not friends. Unlike an acquaintance, a friend is someone with whom I genuinely enjoy being around and can call upon other than just when a favor is needed. Real friends know one another’s birthday, favorite color, pets’ names, parents’ names, etc. True friends will do whatever is necessary to ensure they are involved in each other’s lives.…

Friendship is a very powerful word. As children are growing up, their parents and family give them a taste of what friendship really is all about. Starting at a young age, it is smart for parents to teach children the significance of friendship. A friend should be someone who tells the other individual when they are doing wrong. They should influence them to do good, give them a shoulder to cry on, and be that person to talk to when sad. Friendships change over time as you move from childhood to adulthood, however, friendship exists in the positive relationships a person builds.…

Friendship: the state of being friends: the relationship between friends. Friends are essential throughout life. They can make or break your day. Growing up with that moral being pounded into my head constantly really got me to take that lesson to heart and apply it to my life today. I’ve helped my friends through breakups, school drama, and family struggles more times than I can count. Friendship means to have a certain connection with certain people in your life that you can trust and can be there for them through thick and thin, taking care of them when needed, being good company, and sharing experiences together because you have that certain bond that can only happen with select people.…
