Friar Lawrence's Death In Romeo And Juliet
A single action can change a person’s life forever and maybe even end one. As a result of Friar Lawrence’s plan to fake Juliet’s death in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, multiple people were severely hurt, both emotionally and physically. Friar caused issues and solved others. Romeo and Juliet both died because of the miscommunication in his plan, but the family feud ended after Friar told them the whole story. If Friar Lawrence never thought to fake Juliet’s death, the ending of this play would have drastic changes, both positive and poor. Numerous tragic events would have been prevented and replaced with joyful ones. There is one prominent problem that would have never occurred. This is that Romeo and Juliet would have never killed themselves. The reason that Romeo dies is because he saw Juliet’s “dead” body. He wouldn’t have seen her dead body if she wasn’t playing dead. In

The Prince forces Friar to tell what he knows of the situation when he says, “Then say at once what thou dost know in this” (Shakespeare 5.3.228). Friar proceeds to tell them of the events that took place. He revealed the truth to everyone, which leads to the Capulets and Montagues ending the feud. Necessary events took place because of the friar’s plan. Overall, Friar Lawrence’s plan to fake Juliet’s death had a major impact on Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet’s deaths would have been prevented and they would have the chance to meet again. On the other hand, the plan allowed the friar to cast light upon what was actually going on.
