The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

Friar lied… He is deceitful… Meddled… That began the awful tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. We can say that Friar seems like an intelligent and reasonable man however have his actions proven that? Friar is guilty because he married Romeo and Juliet in secret, thinking it would resolve the dispute between the two feuding families. He conjures up a ridiculous plan whereby Romeo gets banished from Verona to allow Juliet to meet him in secret. We will explore all of the flaws in this plan and how it affected Romeo and Juliet. What will be examined today are the roles and responsibilities of Friar, his actions and motivations and their direct and indirect consequences.

Friar thinks he his doing an ethical thing by marrying Romeo and Juliet, however his thought process is flawed in believing that marrying them in secret will end the feud. …show more content…
After he creates a ridiculous plan when Romeo got banished so Juliet could see him. How would he know if Romeo got the message saying Juliet was alive? This is necessary part of the plan because Romeo envisions life in his heart and not with his mind. Romeo is the type of person who does anything to be able to see Juliet. Since Friar never had a back up plan, when Romeo returns back to Verona it means his situation is heading for disaster. As a consequence of Friar’s actions, Romeo and Juliet lost their lives.

Therefore, Friar didn’t live up to the expectations of his job and that’s what triggered the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet to occur. Their death would off been prevented if this ridiculous and outrageous plan was never conjured up by the Friar. Hidden lies, ruined these young children’s lives. Friar should’ve known the consequences of his actions and that’s why he is at fault. Thanks to Friar they’re family is grieving over their losses. Romeo and Juliet were young, and thanks to Friar they never got too see much of their love awake
