My reading began with an introduction and with a young teenager named Greg and how him and his brother Rodrick always argue and their parents say they are showing a bad example for their little brother Manny because he is only three years young and he draws pictures of his brothers arguing and him in the middle crying. One of the reasons why Greg and his brother Rodrick argue is because when their parents ask them to do the dishes Rodrick locks himself in the bathroom and one hour later Rodrick comes out of the bathroom and Greg is already finished.…
Everyone has the right to fact check information that seems out of place. One could go into depth with the news that appears untruthful. Take for example Dan Fagin, author of "Toms River," after hearing about what was happening in Toms River from other journalists and reporters, he decided to proceed further and investigate the issues himself. He wanted to alert the people of Toms River about what was happening in the city; he wanted them to take action and stop whatever was going on. In order for this to happen, Fagin went to the township and collected all the data he needed and saw. Next, while researching the township he discovered that Ciba was producing harmful dyes, such as vat dyes and azo dyes, that produced "colorless, sweet-smelling…
In this day and age, new technology is everywhere, but it’s usually in the form of phones, computers, and, now, watches. However, we’re forgetting one, robots. Now, they’re still quite popular, but they’re mostly the ideals of science fiction worlds set so far into the future we’ve migrated to space. Is it really so farfetched of an idea, though, to think that maybe we could achieve that level? No, in fact and despite the spotlight being diverted away, we’re heading down the path to robo-world already. What a robot is and has been is quite a lenient description, but no one can deny how much they’ve already shaped our lives. According to the passage “Robots Long Ago” by Karen Brinkmann, “Today robots help people with everything from surgery…

Our team had to wire, build, and program in an unfamiliar IDE. In order to make all of the function of SpongeBob work, soldering was required. This was difficult because it has to be done very precisely. Building became a challenge when we were not given any dimensions or designs to go off of. This made us create our own. Finally, programming stretched the abilities of our programmers because they were working in an unfamiliar environment and with some components that they had never used before. Despite the fact that we hit many road bumps along the way, this project helped us further many skills that are essential to robotics. We expanded our knowledge of engineering and design and in doing so we made someone’s day…

“For the past two years we have lived in fear. Now we can live in hope.” Otto Frank, was the father of Anne frank. Otto Frank had been a survivor in the Holocaust. Many people argue about the issue of survivor's guilt, about whether or not survivors should feel guilty about life and death situations. Survivor's guilt is when a life and death situation happens and the survivor feels guilty of surviving of the disaster they were in. Otto Frank had survivor's guilt because he lost family members during the holocaust such as Anne Frank who was famous for her diary about what had happened during the Holocaust. This explains survivor's guilt because Otto frank and his family had been through the holocaust and only he survived which caused survivor's…

The movie interpretation of Frankenstein that I decided to watch was the Tim Burton, stop motion, Disney animation, “Frankenweenie”. The story is a similar to Mary Shelley’s original novel of Frankenstein in the overall aspect or storyline but was also very much altered most likely to make the film more child appropriate. The movie’s plot centers around a young boy Victor Frankenstein and his beloved dog Sparky, who was killed when running into the street and getting hit by a car. He grows curious in one of his science when he has to apply electrical charges to dead frogs and which results in their legs twitching. This inspires him to dig up Sparky and basically electrocute him back to life, and the reborn Sparky is created.…

I land hard and have the wind knocked out of me. Loud laughter fills the air and mixes with the roar of the crowd. A familiar blob of flesh sits at the controls of a large utility robot. Its vice grip hands open and close in a menacing fashion. The floor bounces a tiny bit as it begins walking toward me with its industrial sized legs.…

M y learning goal of this paper was to conduct research by finding and evaluating print electronic and other sources. Also needed to generate information and ideas from research, and lastly integrating material sources. When I used what we used to communicate with my group I had to figure out how it fit with Swales characteristics of a discourse community. Its function was to inform each member about what’s going on and what’s happening with the team with our plans. I feel that I have a very little understanding of the research goal. For one appropriately integrate what I have from my sources I don’t feel I can say that I did. There wasn’t much learning rather than just doing what is asked seeing what the six ways Swales define a discourse community trying to hit every point with some edvidence.…
