Five Traits of Effective Leaders
Done by: Abdullaev Kubat

Ask each of the other managers in your company to tell you, in their own words, about the vision of the company. How close is it to what you thought they understood? Is your team on the same page as you?
As you work, your company's vision should be in your mind every day, and you should reevaluate it occasionally so that it stays current with the changing times in which we live. And remember, your staff needs to be just as involved as you in keeping it up to date if you truly want them to buy in on the vision. Be sure to keep your key players involved. You must have passion. Your employees want passion; in fact, they'll go to the ends of earth because of it, live and die for it. To build an extraordinary management team, you've got to light the "fire in their bellies," to get them to feel passion about the company and connect to the leader's vision. Passion is such a key part of being a great leader that if you don't have it, you simply can't be a great leader. Think of all the great leaders throughout the ages and try to name one that did not have passion. You must learn to be a great decision maker. How are major decisions made in your company? What is your process for making them? For instance, do you talk to your management team and create a list of pros and cons to help you make the best decision? Maybe you conduct a cost analysis. Or do you create a timeline for the implementation strategy, process and timing? Some leaders have a

“A vision statement is sometimes called a picture of your company in the future but it’s so much more than that. Your vision statement is your inspiration, the framework for all your strategic planning. A vision statement may apply to an entire company or to a single division of that company. Whether for all or part of an organization, the vision statement answers the question, "Where do we want to go?" What you are doing when creating a vision statement is articulating your dreams and hopes for your business. It reminds you of what you are trying to build” ("Vision Statement," 2013).…

I believe that a leader must be honest and have high ethical standards for themselves as well as their team. Confidence and communication are critical to getting the entire team on the same page. A leader must be able to communicate their thoughts and ideas to their team. In order for the team to work together as one unit, they must understand the path they need to take and what the result should look like. When the leader exhibits confidence not only in themselves but their team, people will be more likely to follow their lead. Lastly, inspiration. Having an inspired leader will inspire the team to see the same visions and future for the…

Perhaps King Solomon said it best in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish...” or maybe it was Habakkuk who wrote in chapter two of his book “…write the vision, and make it plain upon the tables, that he may run that readeth it.” The vision that King Solomon and the Prophet Habakkuk spoke of and the visions that organizations seek are different but is some ways the same. While Solomon and Habakkuk were speaking of the instructions in God’s truth which was given to His people by His prophets through visions; leaders of organizations are looking for an inspiration by God or whoever their deity may be to create a futuristic and uplifting statement which has the wherewithal to take their organization into the future with hope and expectation. This is what a vision statement is; it gives the people an achievable goal to work towards. Not to confuse a vision statement with a mission statement they are similar whereas both can contain the core values of an organization; however a mission statement answers the question what is our business and the vision statement answers the question what do we want to become (Boone, 2005).…

The vision “invites entrance” into the future through the committed efforts of leaders and constituents. A vision is congruent with the organizational mission; working toward accomplishing a vision is taking a step closer to the mission. The vision provides leaders and constituents with a purpose to work toward: a preferred future. The vision becomes a tool to incorporate the moral and social responsibility of the leader, constituents, and the organization. The moral ends that people commit to achieving become a valued and meaningful purpose for work. The personal commitment and ownership in the organization’s vision transforms the experience of work from a job to a…

The management should encourage individuals to create their own visions, as mentioned earlier; however, these visions are not the shared vision. They are needed to make it easier for individuals to accept others ' visions and the vision of their workplace. In this way, synergy will be established. The shared vision should not be written out and taught to employees, because this could institute fear. What is a leader? According to Kouzes and Posner, leadership is “the art of mobilizing others to want to struggle for a shared aspiration”, and indeed, these men go further to posit that leadership transcends a certain mode of behavior, rather, that it is an active set of skills and qualities that is clearly apparent. (Kouzes & Posner, 2012) An essential quality then, is a quality in leader that is necessary to achieving the goal of inspiring subordinates to said struggle. This essay will attempt to identify the three essential qualities of leadership from a stimulus, namely an episode of Undercover Boss. The three essential qualities that can be extrapolated from the film are competency, charisma and consistency, as these skills have been shown to inspire colleagues to action and breed trust between the leader and his or her charges, which is key to successful communication (Bordum, 2005) which is the foundation for the execution of the former.…
