Five Broad Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning
1. Explain the five broad social and emotional aspects of learning.

The five areas in social and emotional development are; self awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills. These all play very key roles in a Childs education and how they begin and progressively learn. Self Awareness; self awareness does not only display a Childs understanding of their own identity but how they recognise their own way of learning and taking in information. When considering learning when concerning self awareness its not only that’s Childs individual way of learning but also how that can influence and relate to others in the class/ of their age group. A child having good self awareness can overall understand what they are thinking and feeling and how to process it. If a child has a good sense of social awareness you can assume that they appreciate the work they complete and can also recognise when they may need help when considering a piece of work challenging, which reflects how they can notice and take responsibility for their learning. In addition to this is a child does find a piece of work too challenging they may be exposed to emotions that make them depressed or sad and therefore this displays how a child can understand their emotions and how they can be linked to individual tasks and actions. Managing Feelings; when a child is capable of managing their feelings you can see for yourself how they work through and process different situations in their education .e.g. working in practical situations that may affect them emotionally such as possibly group work Motivation; Motivation does not only apply to the student taking into consideration individually, because them having motivation individually allows them to progress enthusiastically through their education, by having these specific motivational goals it can allow each individual to think ahead of what they are already doing, for example
