When you’re feeling down and you don’t know what to do, what keeps you motivated? In the movie “Finding Nemo” a character named dory said “just keep swimming” this was her motivation to everything and anything. Any time she was stuck in a problem this was her motivation to pull herself back up. Motivation is an essential thing in everyone’s life. Without motivation do you really even know where you’re going or what you are doing? Not having motivation is like not having a purpose which leads you nowhere. People should adopt this aphorism into their life because it gives you the motivation that you may be lacking at the moment, also because throughout a bad situation it could be the only light you have. I was lacking the support I needed and I was not giving myself as much credit as I should have been giving myself. This aphorism means a lot and relates to my life in the way that I have lost a lot of people in my life and not necessarily by death but because my family has been torn apart by society, drugs, and things drugs lead to. When I was five years old my dad left my mom and I because of the drugs and people who were in drugs. At the moment it had no impact because I was young and all I noticed was that my mom would leave the house more often, earlier or come back a little later. I never realized it was because my mom was taking on two jobs at the time to support me and all my needs, today I wonder what my mom’s motivation was. Was I the only motivation left to her? Today , tomorrow , and everyday my mom will forever be my motivation because she does a lot that I take for granted and supports me in all ways possible. Most people would be depressed for a while and honestly sometimes it does get to me and I think about how much my life would change if it was the other way around or if they had actually stayed together. Looking back through all the bad things you have been through in life you cannot sit around and just be sad you have to overcome it and learn from it. Learn that not everyone is going to stay

    I completely agree with this because life is definitely not always going to be how you want it to be. For instance, when you are going through life and it consists of turns and loops but it will always lead back into a positive point through time. When you’re on this so-called “rollercoaster” it is yourself that decides how thrilling or frightening your life is going to be. An example would be Michael Jordan in high school.     Depression, can eat you up inside, it is an uncontrollable feeling of sadness, helplessness, and loneliness. This stage can be especially difficult for someone that has lost a loved one or a family member as they are deeply connected. The fourth agreement, “Always Do Your Best,” is extremely relevant during this stage of grief because “your best is, in fact, the only thing you can do” (86). “You can do your best, and that’s it. No more, no less” (86), even if that means only getting through that minute, that hour, that day. This is concept is so important to never lose sight of, particularly when you are dealing with the loss of a loved one.
