Field Experience Reflective Report
This instructor went above and beyond to make sure students had a clear understanding of the course material. The teacher continued to show an interest in the students and their success. The teacher also made clear objectives and stayed on task throughout the course.

However, the only thing that I would change in this course would be the Field Experience. It was an eye opening experience however it was not put together very well. The amount of hours was a reach considering that the schools in Manhattan had multiple days off that the students weren't made aware of prior to Field Experience. Yes, they sent out the distract schedule however students did not utilize that to the extent the instructors had hoped. I think doing Field Experience

As her teaching assistant, I got the privilege of working more closely with Dr. Okoror and in a more advanced educational affiliation. Through this experience, Dr. Okoror greatly attributed to my personal and professional life. Through her example as a lecturer and through her one on one interactions with students, she exemplified a dedicated and passionate professor, who truly invested her time and energy into her work. As the TA, I had a close relationship with the students in the class, whom often voiced their appreciation for Dr. Okoror’s teaching style, generosity and overall disposition. Through my experience as her TA, I learned about grading, running class discussion, student-teacher relationships, but most importantly how passion and a general appreciation of your job and towards students can effect a classroom and…

Ms. Brown managed her class very well as the students knew what to do when they walked into the room. There was minimal redirection by her, the students knew what to do at the appropriate times, and were on task with the given assignments. Some students participated more verbally, but all of them were working on the assignment. When problems arose during the lesson, she redirected them verbally and nonverbally.…

In terms of structure, I found that having various assignments throughout the week helped me keep on task throughout the semester. Making sure discussions, reading questions, and Writer’s Workshop got completed caused me to spend a significant amount of time working on the assignments and checking the syllabus for what was to come next. Ultimately, the fast pace of the course helped me in continually working on assignments, instead of procrastinating until the last minute. Similarly to the course content I didn’t find anything bothersome of the course structure.…

I am so sorry. I misunderstood the question. I thought the question was asking "How did u see yourself doing at your fieldwork during these 2 weeks?" On the first week, I was struggle with communication as I talked quietly. I could not obtain all the information that I needed from the patients during evaluations. However, i did speak louder and communicated with patients well on my second week after my supervisor critiqued and provided me feedback how to communicate well with older populations. I saw myself gradually improved at my fieldwork placement. That's the reason why I marked "improving."…

All in all I believe this class to be very educational and a critical step a high school senior must take before entering into college. It prepares the individual in many academic and nonacademic ways. As I have been progressing in the Masters of Social Work (MSW) program, I have been able to reflect upon my strengths and weaknesses. Through reflection, I have been able to better understand where I was, where I am, and where I am going as a clinical social worker. Compared with this time last year, I now know that as much as I tried to steer away from policy and research it is impossible to practice on the clinical level without them. While practicing in the agency I was placed at last year, evidence-based practice was a reoccurring phrase that I often heard. My supervisor continued to remind me that in order to do the clinical assessments I wanted to do and provide the interventions I wanted to provide, I needed to know what research showed…
