Many students push for an open campus lunch to enjoy with their friends. They would like to go eat at a fast food restaurant or even swing by home and say hello to mom or dad. But they have to stay at school and either not eat or eat the ever degrading school food. Starting open campus lunches gives many benefits such as an increase in student happiness, less money needing to be spent on food and electricity by the school, and even lunch running smooth with the decrease in student populous.…
One benefit to eating off campus is that the experience is far more enjoyable than eating in the dreary school cafeteria. Some might argue that it takes longer to drive off campus and wait in a drive-thru. However, if one considers the amount of time students spend in the school cafeteria line waiting for the droves of fellow learners to decide what they want while they immerse themselves in their smartphones, then the converse becomes very apparent. Drive-thru windows have become very efficient in providing food to their driving customers. Moreover, there are far more choices in food fare outside of the school walls. Foods from Mexico, China, Italy, and Greece are just some of the choices students have when traveling “abroad” for lunch. So, eating off campus is a much better experience than eating at school.…
Most people would expect Fast Food chain restaurants to be a happy, convenient, inexpensive, and quick place to pick up a meal. The decision to stop for fast food, is made on spur of the moment, without much thought. The vast majority of customers do not set out to eat at a Burger King, Wendy’s, or McDonalds. Often, they’re not even planning to stop for food until they see a big sign, a familiar building, and set of golden arches. Fast food, like the tabloids at a supermarket or a drug store is an impulse buy.…
Community colleges are filled with a myriad of eating possibilities. Vending machines and soda machines line the halls, dispensing non-nutritional sugar and caffeine alternatives to keep the student going. Another alternative is to leave campus to obtain nourishment, but on some campuses the scheduling is so tight that this is impossible for most students to leave between classes. And, students never want to risk losing a good parking place near the building to obtain a snack or meal. Community colleges have responded to the needs of students seeking nourishment by providing facilities for food. These facilities also provide a place for social interaction and entertainment. A qualitative review of three facilities on two different community college campuses indicates similarities exist across community college eateries.…
Food insecurity on college campuses is a prominent issue because students are financially strapped because they are paying for classes, living, and textbooks. South Dakota State University currently has a food program that is required for freshman and sophomores. This program is framed in that the student pays a certain amount of money at the beginning of the semester and that money is used for buying food on campus. There are a few major issues with this program. First, some student may not eat…
Many people think that fast food is bad for our health and that it shouldn’t be allowed in school. More healthful options should be promoted but what’s the use of healthy food in school if the kids don’t want to eat it? Nobody least of all adults LIKE eating healthy if given a choice everyone always goes for the fast food. When we eat lunch at school we get the bad end of the stick. they feed us cardboard pizza, meat that isn’t even meat and has been washed in ammonia to kill bacteria, we get fries that aren’t fries, slimy ravioli, and lunch that generally looks unappetizing and tastes little better than that. the dilemma is should schools offer fast food such as KFC, Taco Bell or McDonalds? I say yes.…
Another good idea is investing in different fast food chains as in Taco Bell, Chik-Fil-A, and Subway. That way the entire student body, even the ones who don't purchase a cafeteria meal plan which is way overpriced, can have access to food on campus without having to spend a ton of money and without having to leave campus.…
However convenient and good that fast food and other on the go meals may be might be, take out and fast food is way too expensive and unhealthy and if we ever want to make it to second semester financially or just plain making it alive I believe following this meal plan will make a great beneficial difference to our wallets and health.…
The affordability of fast food is another aspect that continually grabs our attention. The average meal at a fast food restaurant cost between five and seven dollars, whereas a home cooked meal would produce a greater cost. It’s more affordable to feed a…
Fast food is bad food. That is common knowledge these days. The majority of the foods served at fast food restaurants contain an insane amount of calories, tons of fat, and are high in pretty much everything else that you would want your food to be low in. Long story short, it is the kind of food you want to avoid eating.…
Have you ever wished to be able to eat fast food for lunch? I have. Every time I wish for us to be able to order out I realize that it wouldn’t work out and it would not make things easier for everyone. Although I’m sure it would taste better than school lunch, it is definitely not the best option. Eating school lunches are way more practical than ordering out for lunch.…
Fast food is afordable item being able to upsize a meal for a very minimal fee has made many our kids happy. Good healthful foods cost more money and take more time to prepare for that reason. In our fast food society, it is often much easier to drive through a McDonald's than it is to cook a meal and eat it. Parents without lots of money will get a whole meal rather than few vegetables from the market for the same price. Fast food meals are not only convenient, they are often very cheap. The fact that fast food is cheap and quick is no comparison.…
As a peek in the “Consumers reports on fast food: four big names lose” from the book “The Norton Field Guide to Writing”, the reporter mentions that “ Next time you have a craving for fast food, think twice before slowing down for Burger King, KFC, McDonald 's, or Taco Bell”. The fast food restaurants the reporter mentioned here, are the most famous and renowned places, where the consumer is attracted to eat due to food and low prices. In my opinion there is only one reason why anyone should rely on fast food couple of times and that is time saving. It saves time. But there are many other reasons as surveyed by the reporters for people to be attracted towards fast food. One major reason is the low prices. As also mentioned in the research named “Fast foods” from the “Black book” by “Emanuel Goldman- Alfred L. Simon”, that, “McDonald 's might not be ready with the problems with its chicken”. But, if we see as a whole the prices of McDonald 's are very low which hides the fact that there have been many issues with the chicken it use. People are attracted to McDonald 's even today for their meals.…
Having fast food will save money for the school, because they won’t have to buy a lot of food. That money can be used to repair or remodel anything from school.…
