FTP 150 Film Analysis
For this film I used many different concepts learned from FTP 150 this year. I used concepts such as different camera angles, music to give the video more emotion and further the story, using jump cuts at certain points, telling the story visually, using a script to plan the film, filming multiple shots several times, giving the actor specific direction on how he should play the role, and much more. All of these concepts put together with the actual story I had envisioned created the final product. One of the concepts I used the most was using editing and jump cuts to create a multiple perspective effect to the story. I only used jump cutting in my film for a couple of reasons, my first reason was to make it seem as time was passing by at an unknown pace. This was done in order to create a dream like effect where time does not pass the way it does in real life. My second reason was to create different angles in which the same or similar shots could be put together to create seamless transitions. I tried to incorporate several different types of angles and shots to show the journey of the character as he progresses. I used low angle shots, high angle shots, close ups, Dutch-angles (for very obvious reasons), and a few others. They also helped in creating drama, suspense, or reveal

Although it was not originally planned to have music in the film, it dramatically helped convey the story. The three pieces I decided to use were Morning Mood for the beginning scene, Ride of the Valkyries, and the German National Anthem. What tied all these pieces together was the origin of the pieces themselves; they were German. The first piece fit nice with the morning piece. It was more of a contrast to what was actually happening on screen, which was a nice addition. The second piece also portrayed the journey to class well. The last piece was selected at the last point in order to top off this German filled
