Tidal entrainment is the idea that a separate internal clock, linked to the ebb and flow of tides, guides aspects of the behavioral repertoire in some organisms. For instance, the lunar cycle exerts effects on bristle worms regarding reproduction. Other examples of organisms suggested or shown to be tidally entrained include sea turtles, coral, and grunion.
