Examples Of Microaggression
I saw a microaggression at a San Diego Charger and Raider Game. A Hispanic gentlemen instigated the microaggession. The target of the microaggression was a heterosexual African-American couple. Both were standing during a play in the second quarter and the Hispanic gentlemen shouted " y'all niggas sit down ". The first remark was ignored by the African -American couple, however, a few moments later the Hispanic gentlemen repeated the remark.
The African-American gentlemen turned to the Hispanic gentlemen and told him the remarks were unnecessary, rude and inappropriate. Immediately the Hispanic gentlemen started cursing and threatening the African-American gentlemen, in addition, the Hispanic gentlemen approached the African-American gentlemen and a physical altercation ensued. Eventually the altercation was halted by the stadium police and both were subsequently removed from the stadium.
