Example of a Piece of Persuasive Writing
Would you rather go to a supermarket five kilometers away or another supermarket selling the same things ten kilometers away? Would you rather go to a place closer to you or far away from you? So, would you rather go to Disneyland, which is a one and a half hour drive away, or Ocean Park, which is just five minutes away. Time should not be wasted on travelling long distances, so why bother travelling for one and a half hour when you can just basically do the same things in Ocean Park which is just five minutes away?

Teachers of Singapore International School! Would you rather go to Disneyland and only get to play for two hours or would you rather go to Ocean Park and get to play for five hours? The choice is yours, to sit around in a confined area for three hours and only get to play two hours, or to sit around in a confined area for twenty minutes and play for five hours. Kayla Barry once said, “Stupidity is wasting your time” and now, what a fine example this is to prove that she was right if you were to choose to go to Disneyland.

You know that you aren’t stupid so why waste your time thinking? This is an obvious thing to do. Common sense tells you that we should go to Ocean Park instead of Disneyland. This is as simple as ABC, to play more than to travel. It is that simple!

To go to Disneyland or to go to Ocean Park? They are literally both the same and the only different thing is the location, basically, the students in S1L are just going to play more in Ocean Park. Mr Murchison, you did one great deed to let us play in Disneyland, but why Disneyland? Why not Ocean Park? Mr Murchison, why not just let us go to someplace nearer to our school.

Mr Murchison, you are a great teacher, but why, why would you, of all person, choose to go through the long way, with no benefits at all? Why not go the easier way? Please be smart enough to let us go the easier way, Ocean

Our family’s favorite tradition is summer vacation road trips. No doubt, our vacations turn out to be a success each and every year. Throughout my childhood and into my teenager years, we have gone from the beaches in Florida to the valleys in California. The most memorable one I could recall was our vacation to Disneyworld in Orlando, FL in 2004. I always have the notion as child that amusement park take your imagination to a new and entirely different level. On television commercials and billboard ads, it shows that Disneyworld is a destination where dreams come true and magic happen.…

“If you can dream it, you can do it.” This is a direct quotation from a man whose life’s work has carried on showing this is true. Walt Disney is an international icon who is widely known for his creation of the theme parks Disneyland and Disneyworld. While he proposed for many of the same concepts and themes to be embedded into both parks, there are just as many differences as there are similarities. Both were built with the intention to ignite the dream in all of us, but differ when it comes to things like history, location, and attractions.…

No matter what ones age people who go to Disneyland are seen as the happiest people on earth. Little does everyone knows that the creators of the park are using their clever minds to trick you into become what seems like their puppets. Outside of Disneyland one can try and rebel against the man but when it comes to visiting this magical park it some how does wonders to a persons vision and blinds them from what is going on. The creators of Disneyland tell you where to go what rides to go on next and what you are going to purchase even without you knowing. Even for the rebels without a cause, Disneyland has something for them too. “Every area of Disney World includes a Disney Villains Shop, a chain store for bad-guy merchandise. Visitors who harbor anti-disney sentiments can express their cultural politics by consuming the negative Disney line.” Whether one loves Disney World or hates the fact they are being dragged there-by-there parents they are still being scammed into being apart of society. No matter where one goes around Disney World there will always be a product that will have to be consumed or used while at the park and that is exactly the way they were thinking when they created the…

Disneyland and Walt Disney World are believed to be just two different parks. These two different parks have different locations, different sizes, and even different prices. But if we were to set all differences aside, Disneyland and Walt Disney World share a lot more then just the name "Disney". Disneyland and Walt Disney World share not only the same experience but offer the same fun and safe atmosphere. When comparing the two parks, some start to notice that, although these two parks are different, Disneyland and Walt Disney World also can have a lot in common.…

The audience I would try to reach in regards to an alternate version of my persuasive essay would be the governments of the world that have taken advantage of America’s passivity in the world, such as China and Iran. By having them as my audience, it would send a message that America is not going to be a footstool anymore, and that whomever tries to step on or over will be dealt with accordingly. By seeing my work, maybe it would prevent them from taking specific courses of action because they too believe Donald Trump will bring peace through strength. While it could have the opposite effect on the intended audience in its persuasiveness, it would nonetheless get them out of their comfort zone and possibly rattled. I just hope that it does not go in the opposite direction intended, and create a situation where a country bans my alternate version, saber rattles America itself, or boycotts American products or people. They would find my work in multiple mediums, from underground newspapers, internet ads, and at film festivals.…

I would like to ask the audience: When you think of a vacation in Disney World, what comes to mind? John Cloud from Time International stated it correctly when he said “You’re thinking roving packs of sunburned children who let their ice cream drip on your toes as you wait to ride Space Mountain. You're thinking overpriced hot dogs and hotel pools crammed with little kids leaving warm spots. All true, but the city has also quietly become a favored destination for adults traveling without kids”. I have been to Disney World over 30 times in my life. I have essentially grown up with Disney World so I know the best places to visit as a child and an adult. There are a variety of different exciting activities offered all within Walt Disney World. In a publication by MyPrimeTime.com, a website that offers inspiration and tips to adults, the author says that Disney World “offers adults, even without kids, so many recreation options that they can't possibly do them all in just a week… However, it's not easy to find information about [Disney World] that isn't geared for kids or families”. I am here today to show you that adults can have as much fun, if not more fun than, children at Disney World. I will begin with “Five-star Amenities”, then “Spots & Recreation”, and finally I will end with “Special Events”.…

Rides such as Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and my person favorite, Mike Wazowski’s Laugh Floor, are few of the many notable rides. It is also home to Cinderella’s castle and the MainStreet Parade where all of the characters showcase their skills by marching through an amazing performance. Walking into Animal Kingdom is like being transported straight into the jungle. The real life animals are a favorite to kids, but this park is also the favorite for many adults. My parents particularly loved this one because of the light shows, animal sightings, and of course, the amount of shade from the trees. As a movie lover, especially of Disney Movies, I took a real liking to Hollywood Studios. Between Star Wars, everything Pixar, and The Great Movie Ride which highlighted a bunch of classic films through the generations, there was nothing there I did not enjoy. I constantly dream about visiting again and learning more about what goes in to making the iconic films we all know and love. Finally, Epcot, an experience that you could spend a week on, alone. Epcot is amazing because it is a little piece of a number of cultures all in one space. The restaurants are all authentic and each cast member/employee are from the country they work in. It is possible to travel through the culture of a country in the same continent to a country on the opposite side of the…

You might believe this dream can never be a reality, but there is such a place. This magical, surreal land is Disney; something which is a momentous influence on my life. Have you ever heard of a magic world filled with excitement for all ages? Well before October 1, 1971 you didn't. Walt Disney was a creative man with a lot of imagination. A huge Mickey’s Fun Wheel jumped out at me right when I walked into the California Park. The colorful flowers set alongside a beautiful lagoon. The clip-clop of horse drawn carriages brought people back to carefree days. And of course, I never forget the biggest reason for going to Disneyland – the rides. There was a number of eye-catching moments here- some featuring otherworldly creatures, and white knuckle thrill rides through the clear sky.…
