I quickly looked out the window. I saw police rushing down the street, parents with their young once to seek shelter like a mother deer would do to save her young one from predators. Another loud bang travelling from the other side informing me that I am here. The machine gun is here. Just

To be a successful soldier in war, one must endure extensive training in various situations, including but not limited to, medical practice, survival skills, and strategies. This is of utmost importance because without proper instruction or experience, a soldier could potentially die in crossfire. It can be challenged that in his historical short story The Sniper, Liam O’Flaherty utilizes characterization to imply that the Republican sniper has qualities of an experienced soldier in survival skills and combat training to show his successful survival and defeat of his enemy sniper.…

There has been over 2000 deaths in Ireland from the Irish Civil War. Wars are created as a result of religious and political disagreements or from the rage of people. War will turn anyone, even innocent people, into targets to be shot at in order to prove a point. In war, young men will be forced to kill the people they do not even know of. In Liam O’Flaherty’s story, The Sniper, the Republican sniper is forced to kill those who appear to be his enemies or allies with the enemy, thinking that the deaths of those people will change the flow of the war towards the Republican army. Shockingly, wars may take away lives of individuals from your own flesh and blood and unfortunately in the book, the sniper finds out that one of the victims he has…

I want to be a soldier in the army once I have graduated from school. The book ‘American Sniper’ is about Chris Kyle and his life throughout the army and his time at home in Texas. I will be starting off at a higher end of the ranks as Chris enlisted through a recruiting center, I will be going through officer training to achieve leadership skills, and to enable a backup for myself if I was to ever have a serious accident at some point. I wanted to read this book for multiple reasons. One reason is that I have never heard of Chris Kyle before since the movie had begun being filmed, and when I found out there was a book I thought it would be really interesting, and it has been so far. The main reason now that I am still reading it is because now that I know what he has gone through within the army and the war on terror, I wanted it to be something like a guide for myself to get an idea of what basic training will be like, how war will affect me as a person and what is involved in being a soldier. I have always respected and admired the concept of a sniper in warfare. The ability to…

Alivah was running for her life through muddy fields and dense forest, attempting to evade the sniper who was on her tail. She'd been grounded by one of their anti aircraft missiles, and her parachute was kind enough to tangle itself into a chestnut tree, of all things. The spiky shells of the nuts had pierced the fabric of the chute and stuck as if they were deliberately trying to hinder her escape, and so she had to hurry to cut herself down. From her vantage point in the tree she couldn't miss the convoy of vehicles that was attempting to negotiate the rough terrain to intercept her.…
