My Professional Development Plan at this moment is to obtain all the knowledge of life lessons and professional skills that I can obtain in this class and use it to better myself. So far there is nothing much that I have learned about myself that I’m already aware of. Hopefully as I progress through the next 6 weeks I may learn something new about myself. There have been interesting assessment’s that I have completed within the last two weeks. They are the following: Jungian Typology (Bauer & Erdogan, 2013) after completing that assessment the result stated that I’m an introvert which is true, but not 100% I’m reserve when I’m at work or out on events, but at home with friends and family I’m outgoing and verbal. Now this is something that I need to work on and be more extrovert and get out of being reserve.…

Both the Current Planning (Development Review) and Long Range Planning (Comprehensive Planning) programs relate directly to the City’s often-stated pride in being a “well planned community”, where planning has always been and continues to be strong. Historically, the City had accomplished high quality planning through the private sector’s efforts within its master planned communities. About ten years ago, the City turned attention to becoming a leader in public sector planning. This refocus allows private sector planning efforts to continue within the neighborhoods and at the same time implementing public planning efforts that tie the areas together as a city.…

Studying at university is not just about learning a lot of things that are fascinating in themselves but — at least in the case of most Arts subjects — rather disconnected from ‘the real world’. At the same time as you develop your knowledge of your subject and the skills required to perform well in it, you’re actually developing a whole range of skills and intellectual abilities that can be transferred to other areas of life, including your future employment. Arts subjects don’t generally equip you for a specific job; they actually equip you to undertake almost any job that doesn’t required specialised scientific training. Moreover, university life is intended to present you with all kinds of chances to develop yourself as an individual with a range of interests and experiences, and not just as someone reading books, writing essays and taking exams. An Arts graduate should be versatile, imaginative, critical, flexible, incisive, confident and articulate, and so ready for any challenge or task — if only you can recognise these abilities in yourself.…
