Evidence-Based Communication Case Study
I will consider their views, values and background, try my best to resolve difficulties, difference and misunderstandings. I will also try to use as much as verbal information delivery as possible and face-to-face coaching to help them to follow the routines.
And to build good relationships with others I will:
• think carefully about my words and actions and think about different ways the things I say and do may be interpreted; put things into a cultural context
• avoid using terms that may not be understood by others
• remember that many Indigenous people may regard western institutions with suspicion and distrust
• be aware of the laws regarding discrimination and racism that apply to all Australians and avoid any comments that may be seen
