The importance and development of plans for personal professional development The importance of continual self-development in achieving organisational objectives is that it reduces the chance of stagnation of the employee, therefore, reducing boredom within their role. It also gives the employee the chance to improve themselves, learn new skills and increase their job satisfaction. This then helps achieve the organisational objectives by improved morale leading to high work output and less problems with missed targets due to improved job knowledge. This can be achieved by the company setting “SMART” objectives. These are Specific objectives to the employee, clear and unambiguous. These are Measurable targets that the employer

Implementing and evaluating your personal development plan To implement my personal development plan:
I would need the agreement of my manager, the Business Support Manager
With agreement from my manager the necessary budget can start to be implemented.
The training department would be asked to provide information on previously ran courses or feedback from other people on the courses to help with which might be the better option. This would be defined as whether the course is held at a closer location, ran mainly online, overall cost against pass rate of previous courses.
Also the training department would compile the cost for materials that might be useful for the course.
I would plan meetings with my manager bi-weekly to keep him on track of the progress being made within the course and probably weekly meetings with the training department for assistance in the course where necessary.
I would also meet with my various project teams to discuss where they would assist me by becoming more involved with the running of the project to allow me more time to study.
I would have a “champion” picked from the teams to become lead to free up my time where

Staff welfare in the departments I am usually working with is of a very high standard. All jobs that are to be completed by staff is risk assessed and rechecked every year to make sure all tasks are as safe and harmless as possible, with engineering on site carrying out any changes necessary. They are also re-assessed when any new rules or laws are made, with onsite changes in effect before the law is changed to keep current. All changes are made by the training department in conjunction with health and safety and engineering where necessary. Training method statements are and all staff is trained with all jobs asked of them with records kept. We also have an onsite Occupational Health nurse who conducts yearly tests of night workers in line with their health rights and hearing/eye tests for all employees. Discounted safety spectacles are available from Specsavers if necessary. The company gives time off for family grievances and other domestic problems to help balance the home/work
