The Ethical Lens Inventory supports Equality and Sensibility as my core values. The results describes that I “prioritize the value of equality over autonomy” (ELI inventory). In addition, it indicates the well being of the community as my primary concern as the “best way to assure that individuals are treated fairly” (ELI inventory). The explanations of these core values reassure my conviction that one-size-fits all approach isn’t the best way to find solutions, but rather the best results are achieved by examining each situation in its context. In other words, I prioritize the value of sensibility over rationality.…

Everyone may have strengths and weaknesses. Based on what I have learned from the Ethical Lens Inventory I found my strengths are fortitude and compassion. I demonstrate courage and steadiness in the face of obstacle. Because I value equality, when I am at my best, I demonstrate compassion for others. My weaknesses are confusion and entitlement. So I have to develop the practice of mindfulness and reflection, at some point I will confront the loss of my center, especially if I lose the role with which I have become identified. I pay attention; my temptation will be to believe that I entitled to special privileges because I have not…

I use my reasoning skills (rationality) to determine what duties are as well as the universal rules that each person should follow (autonomy). By prioritizing the value of autonomy over equality my primary concern is prospecting individual rights. I believe this is always the best way to assure that everyone in the community is treated equally. Believing all person should follow the same set of universal rules so strongly that I resist making exceptions even when intuition suggests a more passionate result. I found this result to be very true of myself. My personal ethical lens may direct my academic behavior into the positives. If all is true as the ethical lens states then when I set my mind to a project,…

Another strength value is using my sense of sensibility when addressing problems in the community; this is according to my ethical lens results. I am in the middle on these results, I believe that you must use sensibility but also need to be rational. If I was to favor one over the other it would have to be rationality. One strength attribute that I appreciate a whole lot is the tradition strength. I think this strength can go a long way of helping myself and others out, being able to learn from others that have been in my position and analyzing their decisions benefits me. Some may overlook this attribute; I on the other hand value this trait and have been taught this attribute from an early age and then again in the…

Since no one is perfect, having blind spots is inevitable, my blind spot as a result of my answers states that "belief that motive justifies method." My strengths are reason and self knowledge, whereas my weakness is becoming judgmental and legalistic.…
