Ethical Issues In Social Work

The clients social workers provide services for are faced with various issues that may cause challenges for both the client and social worker. These issues includes social injustice, economic hardship, inadequate health coverage, lack of transportation and limited family support. Although social workers are held accountable for adhering to the code of ethics, depending on the client’s lifestyle or personal choice the social worker personal and professional beliefs may be challenged. Social workers may undergo challenges with professional boundaries and personal beliefs that includes forgiving others and being Christ like while practicing the Christian faith. The Code of Ethics values high quality service, social justice, dignity and worth of a person, integrity, and competency.
