General public seems to accept the yield management. It is to match the demand curve by charging based on differences in the passengers’ willingness to pay. People accept the management, because they think it is fair for people to pay higher price to get a ticket or a good if they really think they need it.
For the airline , the management challenge is to identify those differences and price according to the demands. There are people who have to get on the airplane to go to somewhere emergency. They book the tickets in a really short time, if the airplane is almost full, the price will go up a lot; if the airplane is half full, he probably get a cheaper price for the ticket. Also the seat preference will be another demand for setting different prices. From my limit flight experiences, the seats with cheaper price usually are set in a limit choice. It means passengers who purchase the tickets only have few seats choices.
If I overheard the person in front of you in line getting a better room rate at a Hilton Hotel, I probably will comfort myself her/his room is not as good as mine. It happens that people could get a cheaper even free room or ticket if she/he has time to find out the hotel is full or empty. But I would not do that, it’s time consuming and it is usually for people not follow the schedule.
People who tend to get the better fare, they could wait until the last minute, and they will ask if there is any cheaper or free ticket go to the destination. And they also could book ahead from other people to get cheaper tickets with limited choice of

People are aware when they fly that they might be seated next to someone that might have paid half the price that they did, or even one third of the price for the same airplane ticket. However, to what extent it is a result of targeted price discrimination or simply demand and supply, is a question worth investigating. Price discrimination is “the action of selling the same product at different prices to different buyers, in order to maximize sales and profits” (Blink and Dorton 2012, pg.133). In order to price discriminate certain requirements must exist. These include varied consumer elasticities, the ability to separate the markets, price setting ability and lastly, it must be an identical product which cannot be resold (Blink and Dorton…

Some people within the government did not think it was right for the tenet to play such a significant role, and it caused doubts in his cabinet and the administration. He also had ethical dilemmas of loyalty; he started ignoring his field officers foundations and went for the administrations baseless stories of WMD and thus the subsequent war in Iraq. There was a reference in our readings by Stillman that as public administrators climb higher in organizational hierarchy, they must contend with an increasingly intense tug and pull of competing ethical obligations, which in the end caused George Tenet to resign and also the decline of CIA. George tenet ethical dilemmas had resulted to his colleagues…

In my scenario, I am a patrol officer in a large, suburban police department. We are dispatched to a local abortion clinic, where “pro life” anti-abortion protestors have formed a human chain around the facility, preventing employees and patients from entering. Moments later, my sergeant arrives and orders all the officers to arrest the protestors for criminal trespass. The dilemma continues because I am a “pro life” supporter and attend pro life meetings at my church with several of the people at the clinic protesting. The question is, “What do I do?”…

You’re a fairly new staff member working in a Special Education, Special Day class (SDC) for Severely Emotionally Disturbed students (SED).A student arrives on campus that you haven’t seen in over a week and seems to be pacing around the courtyard and adamant that he doesn’t want to go to class. You approach him and chat with him about his odd behavior and he walks away. In working with these types of youth you let the student have his space because you never know what could be going on, and he has an appointment with you in an hour. An hour later comes and the 2 students you are planning to meet come in your office. You step out of your office into the printing room where you are going to make copies of some paperwork you want filled out. Upon walking back into your office you notice the student whom wasn’t talking earlier pacing around the office and talking to the other student. You act as if you are not listening, as you prepare the paperwork, but you are in fact glued into the conversation. You hear the student tell a story of how he went to a party the weekend prior. His buddies and him got into a scuffle with another kid who called his friends girlfiend a “slut”. The student and his friends confront the guy who called the name and he apologizes and states that he doesn’t want anything to do with fighting all of them. The kid who apologizes decides to call his mother and have her meet him down the street at the bus stop across from the local mall. As he says his goodbyes your student and his friends follow the kid down the street and your students best friend pulls out a gun, shooting the kid in the head. The student has witnessed and been involved in murder. Your student states 3 times in a row the actual shooters name. He states that his friends and him ran 30 blocks home as he was freaking out and throwing up. He still was shaken up and didn’t want to turn his friend in, and also believed many people…

I would definitely advise him to seek financial counseling for his financial situation and in that they will teach him to save in case be loses his job. When faced with an ethical dilemma, it is often difficult to determine the best course of action. First, one must determine whether the dilemma is “right versus right” or “right versus wrong.” Right versus right dilemmas “are genuine dilemmas precisely because each side is firmly rooted in one of our basic, core values” (Kidder, R., 2009). On the other hand, Right versus wrong dilemmas set one apart from another, leaving no room for a resolution and can consist of lying, cheating, stealing, etc.…

We all end up at a point where we have to respond to an issue positively. That is possible when a good amount of experience to certain situations is attained. “The creed which accepts as the foundation of morals 'utility' or the 'greatest happiness principle' holds that actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness; wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness” - John Stuart Mill. This particular quote refers to the utilitarian approach which states that in all our actions we must always strive to produce the greatest possible balance of good or evil. The utilitarian approach deals with consequences. It tries both to increase the good done and to reduce the harm done. Immanuel Kant was an important component in modern philosophy. He combined together early modern rationalism and empiricism and continues to practice an important influence today in ethics. He disputes that the human understanding is the source of the general laws of nature that structure all our experience and that human reason gives itself the moral law, which is our basis for belief in God, freedom, and immortality. “Act in such a way that you always treat humanity whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never simply as a means but always at the same time as an end”- Immanuel Kant. In this particular quote Kant gives us a message to treat people with respect and never get them to believe something that doesn't exist. Carol Gilligan maintains that the morality of males is different from that of females. Males view rules and principles as necessary to proceed in a practice (a game, an art, a science, the making and sustaining of a community). Females, on the other hand, give fundamental importance to the consistency of relationships with other people. Gilligan describes male morality as a morality of principles…

In this situation if the I was the prosecutor I would waive the juvenile back to juvenile court. Also, I would charge the individual in the juvenile court with assault, not murder. The 12 year old committed the crime with his older brother and should not be fully liable for the actions that took place. I feel like maybe I am acting on my own conscious, but a 12 year old boy who did not even commit murder should not be tried as an adult and have his whole life taken away from him for not really understanding the consequences beforehand.…
