Essay On The Difference Between Romeo And Juliet Star Crossed
Have you ever wanted to do a certain task but were never able to do it because every time you tried you were stopped by some form of wicked luck? Well for you this task may be star-crossed which means that it is thwarted by wicked luck and opposed by the stars. Just think what it would be like to have a romance like this. Star-crossed romances have always been a popular topic of writing. For example, Dreamless, Starcrossed, and Reckless Magic. Most of the time all star-crossed romances follow a different plot for each story this is what makes each story individually unique. Yet in the case of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet it seems to follow the same plot as Pyramus and Thisbe. Even though they follow the same plot in Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet there are other events added to make the story into a play and more interesting. From this information we can draw that Shakespeare used the story first told by Ovid to develop The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. “Also love can always find a way” (Hamilton, 488). This quote could not be any more true for the fate of the star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, and Pyramus and Thisbe.
